It has been 9 years since I have been to a meeting.
Who knows if they still have records of me. They barely knew me in that hall anyways.
with all the attention on terrorism in the world today and with the goverment cracking down on some anti-goverment groups.
will the witnesses be next on the list of groups to be watched by the goverment?
maybe even taking action against them.
Many here have gone through very difficult times after leaving the WTS, so it might be easier to associate "good ole times" with those people that were around back then.
There are a few that I would enjoy seeing, but more to catch up on things, as apposed to becoming "good friends" again.
There are a few that I still see from time to time, but it is increasingly difficult to be around them for an extended period of time, when nowadays we are so different.
Sadly, because of the way the WTS makes the rank and file witness react to df'ing or da'ing, those that very well may love us dearly, feel as though they have no choice but to shun.
as i was growing up i remember that we, as jehovah's witnesses, took great pride in showing people god's name in their own bible.
we were the only religion(or so i was told anyway) that used god's name.
our bible, the new world translation, put god's name back where it belonged.
I still tend to have a problem trying to call God by his name.
If you are in a court room, you do not call the judge by his first name, nor anyone else that commands authority. Even those who hate President George Bush likely would never dream of saying "Hi George" if introduced to him.
So why on earth should we think it is ok to call God by his name, even if we could pronounce it correctly, which looks like it is impossible to do anyway?
.
if they made a movie about your life among the jehovah's witnesses, and you were the casting director for the movie and money was no object, who would you cast as the members of your congregation; your elders; their wives; the circuit overseer; yourself?
remember, this is a fantasy, so you can have anyone in your cast, alive or dead.. i think robert deniro could play a very good circuit overseer.. i always thought ted knight would make a good elder, especially the one i am thinking of who always put his foot in his mouth on stage.. i haven't thought of who should play me.. how about you?.
i am going to make a fool of myself tomorrow night .i will be featured on www.natradio.com .
about cults!!!
!producer & host of cosmic horizons just called me .
You should look up Diane Wilson, as she has done quite a few radio interviews, and may be able to shed some light on it for you, and let you know what to expect.

how do you guys find the time to chat on this board all day?
where i live, its not usual for people to "dress up," especially business people and executives, you are more likely to see them with a button up shirt, khakis, and one of those fleece vests on.
so, on the whole, jws look very out of place wearing their cheap suits (though a few elders didn't wear cheap suits and they made that known, "look at this, i got a spot on my new $200 designer shirt" -- really, something like this happened).
but what i did notice is that, in my area, dressing guidelines usually weren't followed, or enforced for that matter, for good looking women.
I think it depended on what congregation you went to. When I grew up, I attended a very strict hall, and there is no way anyone was going to get away with "immodest dress," guy or girl.
But, yes, at the district assemblies, when you had many congregations all mixed together, you would get much more variety, and yes, there were some hotties out there, dressed to kill. However, I never heard of them being accused of being "strong in the truth."
a couple of years ago a cousin of mine was getting married, so the boys had a little stag party for him.
nothing major, just some drinking and a couple of rounds of pool.
as we received our drinks at the bar, i naturally raised my glass to clink it with theirs.
does your life have a purpose or are you just existing?
over the years i've learned to extract the good out of bad situations and it has given me a different perspective on life.
life is all about learning.
