I was rooting for Scott from the beginning. I remember him talking about his dad telling him that he would never amount to anything. So I want to see him go far, just because of his dipshit father. Don't think he deserves to completely win though.

it's no longer just the word of his friend jesse jackson, but his own.
since he was formerly disfellowshipped, this means he has since been reinstated.
First, I have never heard about Jackson being df'd, always that he da'd himself. Can you be reinstated from da'ing yourself?
Second, I don't ever remember hearing that he even was baptized.
That being said, he still may hang onto some JW beliefs.

I dreaded every awful moment of going out in service. Nothing redeeming about it at all.
i was in nassau sitting on the beach, sipping a 151 pina colada, watching the jet-ski guy, all toned and tanned.
i remember thinking, he's got the coolest job in the world ... sittting on the beach all day, renting & teaching drunk & horny tourists how to ride them.
that's my fantasy .... i wanna be the jet-ski guy.
My perfect career choice would be a successful actor, and a successful music career as well.
we did.. we used to call them "memorial saints".
they were the fringe members, the fallen away, the disfellowshipped, those who had their own private pipeline to jehovah, bible studies, good-will, disinterested husbands, delinquent kids, prophets, lunatics and uncle tom cobley and all.. in short, all the weirdo's that could be mustered together on just one night of the year.
but it got the numbers up.
Of course it was easy to tell those who never came to any meetings except for the memorial. That part was human nature.
But I never felt superior to them, or non JW's either. I was hated being a witness, and certainly was never proud of my association with the WTS.

i have a 6 yo son who is in the first grade.
he was born 10 weeks preemie, was an only child up until about 6 months ago and spends a lot of time with adults - especially me...his goofy but loving dad.
I would have so lit into the school for complaining about the shirt.
As far as maybe having ADD, many children that may have that are also highly intelligent, studies have shown. So perhaps this is the case here.
I personally feel that being around a bunch of teachers that have a problem with his ninja shirt is going to harm him more than actually wearing it, or God forbid if he watched their show.
When your son finds some other kids that he likes and has similar interests, he will let you know. At this age, I would let him be himself.

My wife and I have been attending a non-denominational church lately, and we have really enjoyed it. It has tons to offer, and doesn't even come close to anything like the WTS.
We have not become official members, but we just might. It is independent of other churches. But we will involve ourselves as we see fit, as apposed to someone telling us what we must do, or not do.
i have no guilt for not attending for 2 years in a row.

I did go to an Easter service earlier today, and it actually was enjoyable. Sure beat listening to the same stuff told over and over at the hall.
i was wondering if anybody feels like i do that if i hadn't been raised a jw i would never have embraced the religion.
i know it's easier to say in hindsight after i know the truth about the org but honestly i don't think i would have given them the time of day.
i'm not a religious person or even a spiritual person and being a jw always caused a conflict in my mind.
