A big problem for any witness trying to set up a witness only chatline, is that it is so easy to get access. They have no clue who they are talking to, and it would be too easy, yet fun, to let in subtle doubts.

Beware of the internet......from the meeting last night
by JH inthey took 15 minutes to remind us of the dangers of the internet.
be careful to whom you chat with.
make sure it's with "good" jw your chatting with, they said.. what they didn't say was, where the heck do you go to chat with a jw online?

As JWs, ever met any annointed ?
by greendawn inin your time as jws did you ever meet any of the annointed?
did they have good christian personalities and what did they think of the wts and its governing body ?
i met one and he was very unhappy with the way the gb treated him and generally the way they run this society, he told me he wrote them two letters containing a long list of complaints with full scriptural support but he was ignored, first letter got a reply amounting to "no need to write to us" the second one no reply at all.

I was a kid at the time, and I really did not think about them that much at all. I met a few, but they seemed no different to me.

Back in the field
by mtbatoon in.
if you weren't known to the local congregation and had a list of dubs home addresses in your area, would you go reverse witnessing door to door?
-
freedom96
No, they would not listen, and I have much better things to do. Interesting thought, and if someone else did it, I would be interesting in hearing "experiences" at the door.

What religion have you changed to now that no longer a witness?
by AK - Jeff ini know many have rejected the idea of organized religion.
i teeter on that myself.
but i have toyed with hooking to a little country church with some friendly people to associate with.
-

I would not say I am any particular religion, but I am a Christian, and I am very happy with a non-denominational church that we try to attend every week.

Would you contribute to expose the Watchtower?
by nicolaou injost tossing an idea about.
would anyone be willing to make regular contributions to an 'exposure fund'?.
it wouldn't be a 'fighting fund', we couldn't hope to compete against watchtower finances or its legal department in that way.

If I knew the money was specifically to expose the WTS, and was well spent, and we were getting our money worth, certainly I would donate.

I mom became a witness when I was 2, in 1970, and began my journey with the WTS.

American Idol
by Mulan inanyone watch it last night?.
i am really starting to love constantine.
he just gets better and better.. carrie is so consistent, and so good, that i think she is going to win this, but constantine is right up there too.. i also really like anthony fedorov.. i like bo, but think the judges are a little "over the top" about him.

I am glad Scott and Anthony are still on because it makes it a little more interesting, though by no means are they the best singers.
I like Bo, but I don't think his voice is all that, and I don't care for Constantine, though he did nail Queen last week. They both have a stage presence that some will like, others not as much.
Vonzell can sing, but she doesn't do much for me. There are many that sound just like her, though she does seem to give it her all, and I applaud that for her.
My favorite is still Carrie. Country charm, and vocals that are awesome. Put her on a country album, I'll buy. And I haven't bought anything from the Idols yet.

Was Anyone Reinstated But Felt Marked?
by love2Bworldly injust wondering if any of you experienced what i did years ago when i was reinstated.
although people were excited about my reinstatement and said things like "welcome home", i could tell when i would see people i used to be close to--that they still treated me differently, almost like i had a disease or something.
maybe it's because i was married to a non-jw and had a baby by then?.

I personally never was df'd, however, I remember the re-instated ones always seeming to be different. I couldn't help but think of them in a different way.
But, it was always a look of awe, like they were cooler. I remember this even as a child.

My advice?
Schooling is a must. Do whatever you have to, in order to make life as easy as possible, so you can go to school.
You are still very young, and though I am sure you hate hearing that, it means that you have your whole life ahead of you, and it will be a very good one provided you do the right thing now, which is to further your education.
Do some make it on their own, and then go to school at the same time? Sure, but the success rate is very low, and only the strongest will make it.
Take advantage of being at home while at school, and then the options will come before you. Apply yourself, and the world is yours.
