whether you believe the genesis account or not, the punishments meted out on adam and eve were enormous.

yes, they both knew that they would die in the day of their eating from the tree, but why was it necessary for eve, and every other woman born afterwards, to have a painful pregnancy?

why did there have to be thorns and thistles?

about the craving thing;

I think saying the woman craves to be dominated by her hubby is a wrong choice of words. But, I was watching this show about men and womens sex drives and it mentioned that women's body lets out a hormone during her "climax" that affects her emotions and becuase of this, women are more likely to fall for a guy right away and have a harder time having a one night stand. Becuase this hormone makes you feel an attachment to the man. They also mentioned that this is why a woman could be with a Total Looser, with no job, who hits her, etc and still feel she loves him. Men are usually not that forgiving. Anyway, could this bio chemical reaction cause that "craving" that is mentioned in the bible?

I don't know if it is true, I am just passing along a thought I heard on the topic.

But, if its true; Ladies - do not have sex with anyone until you are sure he is not a looser!

i have noticed that at the kingdom hall there are no cemeteries around!

where do they bury the dead of the faithful jehovah's witnesses?

i'm not sure but if they are buried at the local cemeteries which are catholic, united church, etc... etc.... isn't that being a bit hipocrit to speak openly about these church right from the pulpit yet those churches are good enough to rest in peace?

They bury their dead in a regular old cemetary just like everyone else.

are we free?

i don't mean this is as a debate, but merely an observation.

i have noticed that a lot (not all) of us post and participate in topics that are nothing but arguements and debates over what should be believed.

i have also been guilty of this, but just began to wonder, are we really free?.

good points. I just left a similiar thought on another thread. I agree that we will disagree on some things. I don't mind sharing my beliefs but I need to be careful not to share it with those who just want to argue and tear down. I don't mind a good debate as long as we respect each other as a person and not try to attack them personally by insisting they are stupid or crazy for believing in something there is no proof of. They only have to prove their beliefs to themselves anyway.And I am the first to admit, I don't have all the answers. No one has all the answers.

Live, let live, and wait and see what happens. In the meantime, respect everyone and treat them the way you want to be treated.

apparently, a large percentage of xjw's who post on this site have embraced some other form of god/jesus belief to replace the wt doctrine.

most of them fall into the "i accept the lord jesus christ as my personal savior" class.

they are still extremely attached to the old "forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of jc" line.

Hi crumpet,

what I meant to say is that once Adam sinned, God planned our redemption. Not before that because then God would know Adam would have sinned and people can take it to mean God planned on his sinning. It was once Adam sinned, God put the plan for redemption in place.

Also, Adam sinned because of his own free will to do so.

That is all I want to say anymore on the subject. I think it is only tearing people down and making everyone fight over beliefs. I will only explian my beliefs in the future if I know the person honestly wants to know and is not trying to pick a fight. I dont find these fights encouraging and I am not the type to preach my views to others and say I have all the right answers. No one has all the right answers. Mankind is on the same quest for answers and we are all the same in this. Frankly, I dont think it matters what you believe because If God has a plan for mankind, and he is a loving God, his plan will include everyone and not just a small group of Christians. And I believe he does.

Here is my new Motto: Just live and let Live and we will have to wait and see what happens.

i thought it appropriate that my 100th post be about the attending of my first "worldly" church service this sunday.

it is at a friends methodist church.

they are having an open house, so i thought it the best day to go.

I am so happy for you that you seemed to find some place you are happy. I think all Christians are free agents in Christ and we can worship wherever we please. It is just a matter of finding a place that you feel you fit in. Sometimes it is hard after leaving the WT because you are indoctrinated into believing that you must agree on everything the church teaches or you get no value from it. I disagree totally because in the Early Church there were very few things you HAD to believe to be a Christian. And it mostly had to do with believing Christ is your savior and that he died and was resurrected. I tell people the only two important things are the ransom and restitution. (God plan for restoring all back to himself). Other than that, there are many grey areas. So, you have to go with an open mind. You will find it very encouraging that way. Becuase you can learn things in any church. And the main reason we get together is mutual upbuilding and fellowship, not endless bible study that leads to no where.

a friend of mine recently told me that she had committed this "act of revenge" on an elders wife once.

i know the elders wife too and she is such a snoody-nose in the air, my family is better than yours person.

both her boys grew up witnesses and are in the org.

A friend of mine recently told me that she had committed this "act of revenge" on an elders wife once. I know the elders wife too and she is such a snoody-nose in the air, my family is better than yours person. Both her boys grew up Witnesses and are in the org. Along with mommy and daddy but with one of them, everyone knows he is in just so his parents would speak with him. When he left for a while, he was totally ignored. Anyway, this "sister" is so mean, she used to make others sisters cry. I remember even out is service she would love to talk about how anyone not a JW would shortly be annihilatied and she did this on purpose when she was in the car group with sisters who had unbelieving mates and kids. Anyway, she was always talking about how HER family would never read a worldly magazine or book or watch any inappropriate shows.

So, this friend of mine said she started pulling subscription cards out of "worldly" magazines whenever she can. whether its in the supermarket, doctors office, dentist, etc. and she would fill them in using this elder ladies address. My friend said she must have gotten hundreds of magazines! Apparently this lady caught on that it had to be someone in the "truth" because she is too good to associate with anyone else. So who else would have her address but the dubs? So their congregation had a local needs on practical jokes. I didn't ask my friend when she stopped or if she stopped but I thought it was pretty funny.

I was wondering if anyone out there has done something for revenge and what were the results?

Hi wing,

I say try them all. Eventually you will find one that you like, and that you feel have similiar beliefs that you can live with. I went to a few before deciding on one. I have to travel almost 3 hours round trip so I only go every other Sunday. But I got here because it is non-denominational and I have a friend that attends already.

The first time I went to a church since leaving the JWs, It nearly blew me away. The people were so nice and the service was great. I always enjoy the music so much more that at the K.H. I felt so refreshed after it. Not like when I would leave the KH and feel like I was not good enough, etc.

My hubby attended with me his first time in church two weeks ago. He even said he felt good afterwards. Anyway, I wish you luck. You will find the right one and it does not hurt to pray about it.

You stated it so much better than I did. We do have evil because of free will. And yes God planned our redemption from the beginning. I was trying to explian the later benefits and it will be a valuable lesson in how Man can misuse his free will and we need to rely on God's guidance when using it. Maybe I could have explained it a little better but I know I am not a fool for believing what I do. The whole Bible is filled with Gods plan to restore. All the way back to Genesis. Man was never made to live independently of God. We have tried every form of government, reiligion, and there as been all kinds of technologoical advancements made yet we still have violence, inequities, the poor, man dominating man, sickness and death. Along with a whole other bunch of problems. Those who are brought back in the ressurection will be able to compare the world they left when they died to the new world and then can better make a decision on which is better, using their free choice they were given. Also the evil (satan) will be bound so his influence will no longer be in the world. As far as those born after that, I don't know becuase the bible only goes up to a certain time period. But since hundreds of scripture has already be fulfilled, I have no reason to doubt that the rest will not come to fulfillemnt including Gods promise of making all things news, a new heaven and new earth. Or wiping out every tear from our eyes and death and mourning to be no more.

Those of us with faith have something to hope for.

It seems some of this board want to just Tear Down our faith and beliefs but really though - what can you offer us in return? If it is a life of anger, judgemnent, sadness, uncertaintly, no thank you.
