this is a cousin who has complained to me the last 10 years about his wife,kids,work and troubles with his brother and father.
Yeah, He sounds a little self centered too. Notice how he brings the conversation around to HIS father. ppl like that only think of themselves and are usaully very negative towards others. He never once said I am sorry you don't feel well? Very insensitive imo.
Since he is just a cousin and not a sibling you may want to cut ties with this jerk.

I think this is a good topic too, but would have liked some of the bible students on this forum to wiegh in too. How do they feel about how some seemingly worship Pastor Russell? And what do they think about the account of Russell's last days, as told by his secretary?

Yeah the greatest creed smashing hand was Jesus Christ's. And a close second imo was Martin Luther. Russell had no where near the followers of either of these two, not even today does Russell have a major following. Most of the bible students were either born in or ex jws with the same mindset looking for an organization with less rigidness and control.

I can see by the writting of Spurgean that he deff. was in awe of Russell. Probably because he and others already thought of him as some special messager (faithful servant). I Can see also by the writng that Russell believed he was in a privaleged position with God too, hence the white toga, i.e. robe.

Jesus said "not everyone saying Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY those doing the will of my father will". Many Christians claim to be "in christ" but prove by their actions they are not. The church believes in the 2nd coming of Christ and the judgment of all people. That judgement will be for the Church FIRST, then all others.
