What reason did you hear as to why there are no windows at the hall...
1.) Saves energy...
2.) Sound systems were being stolen so for security reasons there were no windows...
Can we all say Mind Controlling Cult!!!

i feel the need to express how i feel and felt about my life as a gay man.
i was brought up from birth as a jehovahs witness.
this has played a major part in my life and it has been a real struggle to get past.
Just read your post...I'm so sorry that you had to go through that but you came through and I'm proud of you. I'm also very happy that you found someone to love you for you! Keep your head up and keep being a constant encouragement to myself and others that through the JW hardships we will survive.

Haven't read your complete post yet...but I must say you are a HANDSOME man!
my young daughter asked this question regarding adam & eve:.
if they were perfect, why did they need to eat from the tree of good and bad anyway?.
we eat to nourish our bodies, we eat to replenish, we eat for energy....they were perfect and would not need those things.. from the mouth of babes.... what's your thoughts....

sometimes i wonder if some might actually enjoy staying in a rut.
do we forsee ourselves being totally liberated from our former religious past??
personally, i have no issues feeling bad, angry or hostile toward where i am now.
It's tough...especially since that religion was part of my life for the majority of my life so far....I'm adjusting though. Actually, associating with others that are leaving or that have left helps. We're able to relate better to each other.
do anybody miss going to any jw gatherings?
they pride themselves with staying away from worldly people, but they love to dance to music composed by worldly people.
.
In the whole grand scheme of things, I find it much more entertaining with "wordly" people. They're not worried about their conduct...they just enjoy being social with everyone and enjoy themselves. That's what it's all about in the first place.
i'm not a big fan of internet shopping.
what about you?
I've purchased a xm 2 go, makeup, new underclothes, makeup, hair (wigs) and accesories, shoes, and misc. things before. I check the history of the seller if it's Ebay first. Have had good experiences so far....
i'm brand spanking new to this forum.... my story is a long one that i will save for rainy day....however i will say i have been out for a long time 10+ years and when i left i really left.
i walked away at 20 (in my heart i was mentally gone at 17) and never really looked back much.
i was raised jw my father was an elder my mother an off and on pioneer (my father is no longer except he goes to the memorials, poor bastard and again thats another long story) i was not shunned by my parents both of whom were still very much in although my father left shortly after me and i would like to think that my bravery and courage allowed him to do the same.
Welcome...I felt the same way at first. These are very loving, unconditional, caring, spritual people here. You'll enjoy.
ok, so i thought it was good but not quite as good as the other episodes.
last night seemed a little slow like a filler episode or something.
ya know what i mean?
Gonna catch my On Demand episode tonight as I missed it on Monday. I love that show.
has anyone read this book?
i've just started...just wondered what your take was on it...
So far I've only started reading the first...didn't know that there were more than 3 books. And seminars? Wow. I agree with you so far that it is a good book. The "relationship" chapter (8) was interesting. Been skipping around in the book but started from chapter 1 last night. Will see how it goes. Thanx for your responses.
