WT Public Information-Position On Murder
by silentlambs inhow would the wt public information explain their position on other crimes such as bank robbery, rape, or even murder?
would they present their position in the same way as child molestation?
if so here is an example for wt media to post with the proper changes.. .

"Suppose, for example, that a long time ago a 16 year old boy murdered a wordly person before he was baptized."
Is this implying:
1) that a 16 yr. old should not be held as responsible for his actions? If so, why did the 12 year old's lawyer attempt to convince the judge that this JW minor was "mature" enough to make her own medical decisions?2) that the life of a "wordly" person doesn't count?

My Mom's reaction to the Dateline show
by Mulan ini posted earlier today that mom thought the show was well done but she thought they made some "cheap shots" too.
tonight, after dinner, i asked her what she thought were the cheap shots.
i could tell she had trouble remembering, but said this: "i am sure there are some cases of molestation, like the ones they discussed on the show, that were handled badly, but there are so many that are handled in the right way.

I think it's great that so many of you discuss Dateline with your family!
I haven't even mentioned Dateline to mine. I'm finished discussing that religion with them unless THEY bring it up.
I believe there was mention on Dateline about "Jehovah dealing with things (molestation) in his time..."
How do they know Dateline WASN'T Jehovah's time to deal with it? -

Dateline Fitzwater Letter-"Two Witnesses
by silentlambs inthe following is a letter written from the service department regarding the molestation of the step daughter of daniel fitzwater.
in the dateline program daniel fitzwater was shown by correspondence from a circuit overseer to have molested 17 jw children who unfortunately did not have two eye-witnesses for each incident.
thus brother fitzwater went to prision and remains in prision as a jw in "good standing".

Inmate Fitzwater:
We have looked into your allegations of molestation and have determined them to be unsubstantiated. We, therefore, will not provide your request for your own cell, or security in the shower facilities.
We have questioned each of the twenty-two inmates whom you claim are molesting and threatening you, and each one denied any wrongdoing. Since either an admission of guilt, or two witnesses to the molestation is required, and you have neither, this file is closed.
If you attempt to bring this matter up to outside sources, including the Watchtower Bible, and Trash Society, your parole will be denied.
Enjoy your stay

JW DF'd Over UN Issue Commends Silentlambs
by FreePeace inbelow is an e-mail i received from a former sister in the pacific northwest.
she was df'd several months ago for discovering and asking about the un controversy.
being rather inexperienced with the internet, she stumbled onto freeminds.org (i believe) and printed out info on the wts's un connection.

I don't know WHAT I did to the above post, I'll try once more....
"The term 'readjust one's thinking' is a scriptural term and as a religion, JWs are allowed to interpret it as they see fit within the framework of the law."
PathofthornsPath, or anyone else who may know, could you please reference this "scriptural" term?
"JWs are allowed to interpret it as they see fit within the framework of the law."
Is this case law ? -

The WTS took Stratton, Ohio to the Supreme Court of the United States to invoke the JW's constitutional right of freedom of speech.
Do the WTS feel that the Constitution was written for it alone?
If not, then I believe there is an Amendment dealing with "LIFE, liberty, or property," and "to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws..."This baby has not "dedicated" her life to the WTS just because her parents have.

Another Watchtower Lie?
by DakotaRed inapplication of "two witnesses" in the congregation.
"the assertion has been made that jehovah's witnesses take no action when an allegation of child abuse comes to the attention of the elders unless the accusation is verified by two separate witnesses, and that's just simply not true.".
page 108 and 109 of the pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock (elders manual), contains the following instructions:.

"...one witness or victim in each of two or more different cases make up the sufficient number of witnesses to have the molester convicted."
Old Hippie, I don't understand, if that is the case, why is "Fitzwater" not disfellowshipped?
Secondly, what is the definition of "convicted" in the above statement? Disfellowshipped?
Lastly, even if the WTS abided by this, wouldn't it be a more preventive measure to allow the authorities to handle allegations instead of risking a "second" victim?
