Witnesses work for one thing,The Watchtower,period. They merely "deposit"the money and efforts made in their behalf. I have been out since 74. A local church near me has members going to Louisana to work for people whose homes were destroyed by the hurricane. They work for free. Give people their homes back for free. Hey this is a church,part of Babylon The Great,a harlot as we were told. Yet they give labor,money time and sympathy,no strings attached,free. They pay their own way down and back and pay their own way while there. Pretty good for a whore aint it.

thought i would share some of the points here for newbies and all others to see just what a person exiting a cult, or jehovah's witnesses might go through psychologically so they can better know how to deal with the various emotions of anger, guilt , and sadness that can accompany leaving the witnesses.

In 1973 my older brother and his wife left their 2 kids with a "brother" and his wife for the weekend while they went on a short vacation. After they returned the little girl said the "man licked me and I didnt like it." Nothing was done. My brother said he would just Wait on Jehovah to make things right" I held up my fist to my brothers face and told him "HERES JEHOVAH" I would have hurt that "brother" if it had been one of my girls. I know vengeance belongs to God but I always told my girls that before anyone gets to you they will have to go thru me or answer to me later,no warning,like a train wreck I would be on them.

I am 60 years old. We shuttered in our shoes when the August 15th 1968 AWAKE came out. "You will never grow old in this system of things." Being mad doesnt help. Being wiser does. I make sure everyone I know is aware of the false prophesies I was lead to believe and the danger of groups like THE WATCHTOWER.

New Experience: I went to a Christmas service at a church Monday night....
by WingCommander init was my wife's sister's church, a lutheran church.
i wanted to see my neice's sing in the choir and also just to take in the whole experience.
i have been married for 4 years (to non-jw woman) and have only participated in christmas activities breifly.

If the Angels rejoyced,were happy,partied even,,,what sense does it make to nit-pick about the actual month and day of the event. It is the INTENT,the OBJECT OF YOUR LOVE that matters. We have been released from a DEATH SENTENCE. Be happy,be very happy. Churches celebrate the event. Most are upbuilding,they empower you to be a better person.We are all worthless yet here God has said we are not !!! The Watchtower line we are all so familar with is depressing. It does not raise you spirits or hope,just the opposite. Pick a simple church or better go to several and hear the real word preached...no 1914 B.S. and pushing mags and books door to door. ITS A FREAKING GIFT PEOPLE>>>LIKE AS IN FREE. You cant EARN it. it is free..if you believe and simply reflect that belief.....

SPEEDING UP THEIR OWN DEMISE?
by Dansk inwe all know the majority of the society's elders are absolutely useless when it comes to dealing with family matters and as i was sat here reading a number of posts it suddenly occurred to me that watchtower may have started to speed up its own demise.. before i exited my old congregation a young elder was appointed.
he was married without children (they don't want any).
after i exited i heard of another young elder who was appointed (they, too, have no children and i don't think they want any either).. the service overseer was a young elder (a right big head and son of the p.o.).

Shakers. Do a WIKIPEDIA search. I think it says there are only about 4 of them left today..........its only a matter of time. Presumption and arrogance thin them out in a few generations.

I was in a congregation with Joy Gobitus in the late 60's. Older witnesses will remember the Flag Salute issue of the 1940's.She was the daughter of Wally Gobitas the defendant in the suit,went all the way to the Supreme Court and the witnesses won a big victory. Joy was a sweet person,full time Pioneer,seemed to have it all,or so I thought. She for some reason just flipped out one day,went clean off her rocker,was locked up in jail.While in jail she drank Clorox Bleach! I didnt get any details from the "brothers" so never really knew what happened. Weird was what kept coming up in my mind!

The expression "wiggle room" for me shows just how much they have been reduced to cartoon status in their attempt to be taken seriously. If it werent for all the hurt and damage they have inflicted on innocent people over the years it would actually be funny.I was d'fd in 74 and my older brother kept throwing this time difference of Eves creation in my face after 75 didnt happen. It kept me anxious at least until 85 and then I just decided to stop thinking about it.

i know so many in the congregation in their mid 70's and older.
many of these older ones are pillars in the congregation.. i was just wondering what effect it will have 5 to 10 years from now, when all these older ones will be too sick to attend meetings or dead.
