Comments You Will Not Hear at the 8-26-07 WT Study (SIN-HOLY SPIRIT)
by WT Comments in"every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men," said jesus christ, "but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven.
" (1 john 5:16) but is it left to the one who has sinned seriously to determine whether he has committed "a sin that does incur death"?.
(psalm 51:11) however, if we are deeply grieved over a sin we have committed, it is very likely that we are truly repentant.

Calling all ELDERS
by The Oracle inif you are an elder who frequents this site, please let me know.. i am trying to connect (completely anonymously - your privacy is assured) with as many elders as i can.
i know that there are hundreds of elders in the same position as myself (have had our awakening and have come to realize that "the truth" is a sham).. i encourage you to continue to serve as an elder and for you to work together with other like minded elders as a collective force for true good.
there is much we can do from the inside to help the cause.. there are thousands and indeed millions of kind and honest hearted people whose only crime is that they have allowed themselves to be deceived and are still active jws.

I left about a year ago, and I also think the best way to influence this cult is by simply leaving. Try speaking with family and friends on a personal level. However, a drop in numbers and in dollars is the only way to affect them. I do support those that are in a position to publicly speak out, through lawsuits, or whatever means, to further expose this religion as just a bunch of men living off our hard earned dollars, that have put themselves in the place of Jesus.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 8-19-07 WT Study (CONQUERING EVIL)
by V in"keep conquering the evil with the good".
that man of god, nehemiah, not only withstood opposition from ungodly people but also conquered evil with good.
would nehemiah 'let himself be conquered by evil'?.

The Society has always had the outright nerve to tell "us" to suffer and die due to their own policies, yet they stay locked behind brick walls safe in the US sitting on millions of dollars.
Plus the outright nerve to tell us not to listen to opposers that seek to stop our preaching (?) Keep on the treadmill of handing out tons of paper each week to the same group of homes, provide free labor to build KHs, all the while the same group of men living a comfortable lifestyle at bethel decide how to spend the millions of dollars piling up.
I am encouraged by this article because I am hoping it means they are starting to panic at Brooklyn. All their bad reports worldwide are starting to pile up around them - these are current reports of settled court cases to protect their million, their UN status, so forth.
Are the bricks starting to crumble at Society headquarters? I don't think any religion would print this WA article if things weren't starting to happen to threaten their security.

How Jehovah's Witnesses Encourage Mental Illness
by metatron inwhile being a witness does not automatically make one mentally ill, it should be clear that huge.
numbers of witnesses are - and moreover, that the watchtower society encourages certain kinds.
of mental ills to maintain its control over publishers.

I didn't have choice. As I grew up and took a look around, I found my parents mentally ill, isolated people, that hated life. So they thrived in the JW world. I only wish I was a stronger person the could have broken away in my teens instead of trying to make a screwed up religion work. I guess I should just be glad it was "them" and not me that was screwed up. thank god I am out.

What Was the Final Straw for Barbara Anderson Leaving the JWs? Here it is..
by Seeker4 infirst a few important points.

let's keep passing that on.. second: the subject of getting this into hands of the national press has been handled, and if everyone could leave it at that for the time being, we'll inform you on here what to look for in the next week or so, hopefully.

My father was (and is) an elder. Thru the yrs he and the body of elders handled sex abuse, whether it was a child, or against an adult. Honestly, he and those elders never viewed "sex" as abuse or a crime, no matter what the age of the victim. Even had a few cases of a wife abused by her husband, he beat her repeatedly. The elders asked the wife "what did you do to cause your husband so much grief and anxiety the he was forced to react this way.."
Is it the GB view that sex, or any kind of unwanted behavior and abuse, is just not a crime? That its a personal problem like smoking?
I've noticed many I have known in the congregation to take this view, whether men or women, its just not a crime and should be handled privately by family members with the help of prayer and the elder body.
I don't know how to react to that way of thinking - it leaves me speechless.
I sincerely hope this info gets out to the public to make the "blind" JWs see what is going on.

Thank you for the WA review.
I also think this article, in part, is about "dont sue the WA society" or the local congregation for any wrongdoing. Just let it go, continue to suffer in silence while the perpetrators are protected.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 8-5-07 WT Study (Obedience)
by blondie inand secondly, it has set apart the real followers of jesus christ, the true servants of jehovah god, from all others who profess to be christians but are such in name only.. *** w59 3/1 p. 148 par.
yes, we can give him something very precious.
" (proverbs 27:11) we can give god our obedience.

Can't believe they used a physician as an example? JWs are taught to disobey physicians all the time regarding blood and not obsessing about their health problems. All JWs with health problems are taught to ignore them and to continue distributing JW literature day in and day out with the hope of death and resurrection.
Thank you, Blondie, for another expert analysis. I look forward to your post each week.

Closing prayers at JW conventions
by TD ini've often thought that the closing prayer at jw conventions is a study in psychology in and of itself.. consider the typical scenario.
it's 4:30pm on a sunday afternoon.
people are tired and hungry.

I totally agree with the comments here. I never realized how hypnotized I was during these grueling sessions. Then with the closing prayer your eyes are either closed or focused on one object, like the back of a chair, or your shoes, while listening to a quiet voice droning on reinforcing all the rules you learned that day. After each assembly day I was anxious, over tired, with a blistering headache, it was impossible to sleep that night, then up at dawn for another day of torture.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 7-22-07 WT Study (Elderly Blessing)
by blondie inelderly ones, a blessing to the young.
do you associate often with people younger than you?
q1, 2) what should elderly servants of god appreciate, and what will we now consider?.

Robert222
Thanks Blondie.
Also I can relate to the comment by "truthsetsonefree". It made me think of when I heard the elderly experiences at district conventions it made me very sad. I thought what an empty life, with nothing to look back on with fondness. Just an empty life of walking door to door, and the horrible routine of plodding to weekly mtgs. The same treadmill, with no life, no new experiences, nothing to look forward to.

Well one "elderly" person I spoke with is my aunt who each yr since 1975 has wondered whether she should invest in a new car. She would say, "well this is my Armaggeddon car", meaning it would be the very last time she would spend that money because should would be sitting in a paradise. That aunt is now 60 and dying of cancer.
Is she a strength to young ones in the hall? Hmmm. Peronally, I want back the yrs the WA stole from me. Any young person I would gladly tell you live your life to the full, as time goes very fast, and make your own decisions about god and life.
