IW, those are good points, and there are exJWs who have a terrible, toxic attitude.
But I think most people here are baffled by his position, and by the position of the local elders who put him back into an approved standing, especially in light of what he said and wrote before.
Has he recanted that stuff? It doesn't sound like he has. If he's asked about his previous statements, will he deny their validity? If he doesn't, he'll end up back out on his ass again.

IW, if you really are who you profess to be then you know that joining back up with the Witnesses is an abrogation of conscience, not a submission to conscience. It's turning off your conscience and allowing it to be replaced by a complex set of rules and regulations.
Stafford by his own admission is not following his conscience--he is suspending it to "wait on Jehovah." -

Why did vegetarian Abel tend a "flock" on a tropical earth?
by M.J. in.
abel tended a "flock", which could have included sheep, goats, and/or small cattle according to the strongs word usage.. yet people weren't supposed to eat meat until god gave the go-ahead to noah, says the wts.. the earth was totally warm before the flood according to the wts, so tending sheep just for its wool would seem a little pointless.. it seems as if abel would have needed to live off of cain's crops, while he spent all his time hanging out with a pretty much useless flock.
no wonder cain was a bit surly.. what do you think?

Chapter 9 is again by the priestly author of the first creation story and again he is insisting that vegetables were the only approved food before the flood.
You lost me there--isn't the vegetable sacrifice rejected, while the animal sacrifice is approved? How would this cause the reader to conclude that vegetables were the approved food?

Can you think of any WT books that aren't 192 pages?
by silentWatcher inso, the latest book at the convention was 224 pages, and not the typical 192 pages.
more manna from heaven :-) .
besides the greatest man book, can you think of any regular issue book (nwt, proclaimers books, bound volumes, etc not included) that was not 192 pages.

The WTS books were an unusal size due to the type of printers they used to use, with non metric paper. Quite aptly they were the same size as Mills & Boon romance novels.
Possibly the new size corresponds with the new printers they have recently purchased.
Through a cruel twist of fate they are now exactly the same size as Mad Magazine.

Thanks, blondie--those are some great links. The Whitney one is especially good, I can see why he got the title "Foremost Apostate in the West." :)

You cruel-ly gave out older light
Which seemed cor-rect, but wasn't right
Your wrath will sear all those who pray
To God the Lord but do not say:
"The Watchtower is really good!
I'd love to die from lack of blood!"
Lord don't kill me, kill me, kill me
I'd simply sin if I were free
The rules exist to protect me, LOOOOOOORD!!!!!!!
Don't kill me, kill me kill me. -

Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention
by under_believer ingerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).
he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.
first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.
