  Blood Question on Yahoo Answers

  Much like any other part of the Internet that Witnesses use (see: the Witness portions of Wikipedia), Yahoo! Answers is a toxic cesspool of misinformation, personal insults, flamewars, recriminations, justifications, rationalizations, and outright lies. I hate it. I find it so upsetting and disturbing to contribute there.

  No. Disfellowshipping denies mercy and love. Paul said a lot of things... he said for women not to speak in the congregation, for example--they were to ask their husbands questions at home. Possibly, Paul's advice made sense back then when the congregation was young and burgeoning, or possibly Paul was full of crap. Certainly, he didn't know he was writing things people would consider to be divinely inspired 2000 years later.
  
  If you must regard Paul's shunning advice as inspired, perhaps you can look at it this way: his letter wasn't written as an organizational edict. It was to be enacted by individuals. This would mean that deciding if someone needed shunning would happen on a person-by-person, conscience by conscience basis. Not this centralized, humiliating, "booting-out" process that happens with the Witnesses today.
  
  Another thing to consider: Why do Witnesses disfellowship? Of course they say it's to keep the congregation clean, but we all know that usually the biggest motivator is to avoid bringing reproach on the congregation. Does Paul's advice allow for that motive?

  sir82, one thing that makes this campaign "extraspecial" is that they are leaving the tracts at not-at-homes after a certain date. Need to make sure Jehovah's message of judgement gets out there. To 1/6th of the US population at best. 1/20th of the world population at best.

  i was wonderin' how you guys see the conspiracy of the trade center demolition and the attack on the pentagon?

  it has been well established now some years later that there must have been detonation devices lining the elevator shafts of the three trade towers that collapsed.

  after 1 and 2 fell, no one really ever questioned the way that 3rd one fell in the same manner (pancake collapse style, as a controlled demolition goes).

  Butters, I want to be your friend. But that topic is off-limits for me. I have argued it one thousand times all over the net (not just here) and I am heartily sick of it. And I have never seen a successful thread about it here. Every single one devolves into recriminations, tears, accusations, "Dumb and Dumber"-style slap-fights, and flame wars.

  Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?

  just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?

  Seriously, where the heck does this question come from? No I don't think I'm superior to anyone. I suck, actually, I sometimes feel like I'm a spineless coward who is taking the easy way out. The people who deserve respect are the DA-ers, people like LittleToe who DA'd from the platform during a public talk, or (currently) AK-Jeff who is mailing out DA letters to everyone who matters to him.
