Welcome, broken_wolf!
by cruzanheart ini'm glad you finally started posting -- i know everyone here who hasn't met you will love you and those who have met you already appreciate you, even if you didn't take part in the moon party on my front lawn last saturday!.
for those of you who don't know, broken_wolf is my dear friend margaret, the brilliant editor and graphic designer of brian mcglothin's book "have you seen my mother?".
even though she was never saddled with the burden of being a jw, she appreciates what we've all been through and admires the courage it takes to walk away from such a high mind control group.

Man, 37, held as girl, 11, has baby
Police have arrested a 37-year-old man after an 11-year-old girl gave birth to a baby boy.
The young girl went into labour at Hillingdon Hospital in west London on May 5.
She and her baby have been taken into the care of Hillingdon Borough Council, a spokesman for the local authority said.
They are now both the subject of care proceedings, he added.
The girl, who is thought to be from Africa, had gone to the hospital complaining of stomach pains but went into labour as she sat on the toilet, The Sun reported.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said officers arrested the 37-year-old man at a house in Uxbridge, west London.
He has been been bailed to return to a west London police station in July while officers from the force's child abuse team continue their investigation.

I know that these days I should not find anything shocking anymore. But I feel so sorry for the little girl. It is so sad that she was sexually abused and not only that but to become pregant and have baby from such abuse. 11 years old...she is so very young.
It makes me wonder if this sort of thing had happened in the congregation...would any of us know about it or would it be kept under-cover.
I also struggle to understand how a 37 year old man felt sexually attracted to a 11 year old girl.
Very sad news...sorry to post something so depressing

You certainly like to try and argue with the decent people in this forum and from those I have 'spoken' with on this forum...none of them have said to me...'I hate Jehovah's Witnesses' I'll think you find that most...if not all of us have had some or still have somekind of connection with JW's...I was a JW my wife still is. I do not hate JW's I just resent....No...I will be honest...I hate the WTS for they way it lies, cheats and misleads a group of people that all they want to do is worship God in the right way. It is the WTS I hate...even though I have had bad experiences with JW's personally...what do you expect from a people that have had their thinking condition to that of a cult like sect.

The posts have been great!
by brother ini haven't been on in a while so i've been perusing the threads today and i do have to say the last few have been fantastic.
i find this a great forum to post something learned, something funny, or to just get something off your chest.
we each have our own way of de-brainwashing(if you want to use that term)ourselves but we also share quite a bit in common.

I agree...this site is more friendly than any meeting I have been to.
It is also nice to know that there is support for all those that are 'Fading'

"No fear" t shirts, forbidden???
by free2beme inin the 1990's there were a lot of things that had the saying "no fear" on it and one of the local elders figured out that this meant we live life and do things without fear.
so that basically we could try things and take chances, without the normal fear we associate with things in life.
well in a special needs talk they decided that "no fear" t shirts should not be worn by good witnesses and they asked that we not wear them to witness gatherings, or even in life.

Kero-kero
I have to be honest and say...........Shock, horror and total surprise.........NO!
Nothing was ever said about the 'No Fear' T-shirts in the congregations I used to attend in the 1990's and I attend at least 3 congregations during that decade. I do not even recall anything being said at the assemblies or district conventions.....Anyone esle in the UK know about this? Because 'I Know Nothing!' (said with an Italian accent)

What are your reasons for not joining another religion?
by MARTINLEYSHON ini am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.

My reason is I have lost pretty much any faith I have had. I do not really want to get involved with any religion now. I am not even sure if I really believe in God anymore...which may sound daft becuase you either believe or don't believe...but I am not sure....I think I am leaning towards don't believe....Which I guess means I have lost any hope I might have once had.

Is Jonah the Anti-Christ? Is that why he didn't want the evil people saved
by Judas I. in.
seems him and jesus had completely different desires and the same job to do.
any thoughts?
-
Kero-kero
No...Jonah was scared of going to Ninevah to warn the people about the coming of Jehovah's judgment upon their city. Can't say I blame him...I would have been scared also.

Were YOU Gossiped About In The Congregation?
by minimus indo you know who the worst offenders were??
the elders.
the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".
-
Kero-kero
Yes! I was Gossiped about...just because I struck up a friendship with a Japanese women who was studying....Well, considering I was the only that could actually speak Japanese in the congregation...of course we are going to talk to each other....But by all accounts...she was my 'girlfriend' Mmmmm! 1) I would often talk with her in front of wife. 2) she was a married women with two grown up sons and a daugther that lived and worked in Switzerland.
Yes I admit..I did sometimes join in with her study..which was with two Japanese sisters....and yes I did sometimes take her to the Japanese meeting...but if that means we were having an affair...or whatever their twisted minds were thinking....then they really are a sad bunch of people.
Oh yes...and there was the gossip about me being a strange person and has such most of the congregation did not want to associate with me, I am unfriendly and cold. Don't travel with that brother Steve he might play some demonic music in his car....There they go judging me by my past.....They seem to think because I was a Goth I was some how worshipping Satan before I came into 'the truth' Only one guy...sorry brother would actually socialise with me...He was a biker and we got on well. But something must have been said to him because eventually...when he was 'spiritually strong' he would not socialise with me.
You know...none of my so called friends in the truth even invited me to their weddings. The brother who was my best man....did not invite me or my wife to his wedding....Why because people would gossip about me and say false things about me, I was strange, I was weird, I am not strong in the truth. Hang about...I think you find I was spending a lot of my time trying to help out in the 'foriegn field' I used up all my holiday once to Aux Pioneer...In the end I did more hours than a full time pioneer for that month.
I could go on...I keep getting told we go to the meetings for Jehovah....yeah...maybe...but it would help if I felt somekind of friendship...or that I was actually wanted there...but I did not. So they can stick their meetings where the sun does not shine...and now I have found out the real truth about The Truth.

Jadoo means magic...But it involves such things has putting a curse on somebody with the help of spirits.
But Jadoo could also mean the kind of illusion tricks that David Blaine does....But in the case of my wife's nephew it was the placing a curse on someone with the help of spirits
