  Can I ask a question without offending Spanish members? Neighborhhood?

  i have some great neighbors...spanish on both sides of me, and down the street.

  their homes are very nice and the yards are kept up....but there is the strangest thing.

  they love to put big wooden posts in the middle of their beautiful lawns with the most hideous kmart type night lighting fixtures you have ever scene.

  I am not a Republican, I am a Democrat.

  Simply put, I think both parties are corrupt, and work together, like wrestlers in the WWE, or WWF, to screw YOU THE PEOPLE.

  I hold the Democratic party more responsible, because they have always claimed to be the party of the people, but they are not. They, like the Republicans, are a party OF THE BANKS, AND FOR THE BANKS.

  Question for our scholars...

  i was asked an interesting question by a jw relative and was not exactly sure how to answer it...thought i would throw it out to the scholars on the board:.

  what was the expectation of an afterlife for faithful ones living before jesus was sacrificed?...did they believe they would have an afterlife on earth or in heaven?.

  Change in Regular Pioneer application process

  this week a letter is being read that changes the process for the approval of regular pioneers.

  in times past you had to fill out an application, submit it to the elder body (who would then add their comments), and it would be forwarded to "the branch" for approval.. this is being changed so that the elder body grants the approval instead of brooklyn or the local branch.

  it looks like the lawyers are removing any and all direct contact between the rank-and-file and the gb.

  My Aunt Counsels My Mom About Having Too Much Worldly Association

  my mother recently got out of the hospital and she has been attended to by 3 different nurses that come to her home to assist her.

  in addition, she has other people to help her in food shopping and some medical visits.

  because they are "worldly", my aunt has told my mom that she notices a difference in her.

  i found this metaphor - with credit to the author, dr carlson ph.d. - to be relative to many issues facing exiting jw's, or for other seemingly unmanagable big issues in our lives - .

  .... a story about lions being rescued from a dangerous environment.... the new living environment was "perfect" in every sense of the word.
