I certainly hope she is better.
Please help the family to rally around her and let her know just how much she means to everyone. She will need lots of support and love.
my sister-in-law tried to take her life this afternoon.
it still remains to be seen if she makes it through or not.
though a witness, she's had many bad experiences in life.
I certainly hope she is better.
Please help the family to rally around her and let her know just how much she means to everyone. She will need lots of support and love.
in the battle between apologists and apostates, who do you think more often comes around to the other point of view and why?.
imho, apologists (or trolls) are just potential apostates who need a little more time in the oven.
(in other words, they are not fully baked, only "half-baked.
Rosalee states:
Christendom broke away from that when they refused to regognize Jesus' enthronement in 1914. True Christianity is still dedicated to serving Jehovah.
Well, this may prove interesting. Remember all the awake magazines that said that without a doubt the generation that saw the things happening in 1914 and were of an age of understanding would by no means pass away until the end came, then the generation that was merely alive in 1914 would not pass away, then the meaning of generation was changed in 1995?
Well, eventually, the 1914 doctrine itself will have to be done away with, kinda like the 1935 --the end of the heavenly calling-- but wait! The number of annointed just keeps getting larger so now there must be "adjustments" to this doctrine. When the 1914 date of absolute "truth" begins to waver, maybe Rosalee will begin to feel differently.
I remember twenty five or so years ago a sister telling me she "Knew it was the truth because the number of annointed went down each year." I wonder if she is remembering her words today as she sees the number increase each year.
By the way, I am not df'd or da'd either. But I can't overlook the false prophesies, UN involvement, Beth Sarim, cadillacs owned by the big cheese Rutherford, etc. How about the other house they owned--the one with the bomb shelter? So much for Jehovah hiding them......
hi - i have jw friends (really!
) and have gone to kh for some talks and study every couple of weeks.
things like the new watchtower policy, selling buildings (i am from nyc and know the heights well - that will make a boatload of money), the sex abuse settlements, drop in membership and donations, and some of the changes i have seen in the magazine (the annointed qfr, for example).
Because doctrinally they were forced too, having painted themselves into a corner through stating in their publication for decades that 'this generation' was a literal, measurable, human generation that started in 1914.
What this means is that the only time the Society announces any 'new light' appears to be when they have tied themselves to some interpretation that father time exposes as erroneous.
I agree that the "New Light" was forced upon them concerning the 1914 generation. I mean, how long could these people be expected to live?
But the new arrangement for the WT magazines? I do not get it. I don't think it will set well with many people. This is because it will cause alot of problems with who is allowed to receive the magazines. How will they determine this? Greet the new ones coming in the door and test them as to their pronounciation of "Mephibosheth?"

I was fixing to write more, ya'll, but almost tumped outa my chair. I almost done it, too.
for me the concept of pitting animals together to fight, maim and rip the flesh off one another is beyond cruel and inhumane.
what do you think of dog fighting at all - does anyone out there condone or enjoy that type of "entertainment"?

I do not choose to derive pleasure from another's pain and suffering, human or animal.

here is a link to my story, it was posted on another wonderful board.. http://p196.ezboard.com/fexjehovahswitnessforumfrm14.showmessage?topicid=377.topic.
Welcome. Thanks for your story.
I really never read any other boards. Guess I found this one first and haven't looked since.
in christ, by shared concerns and a common history, .
my name is vernon williams.
i live in monett, mo.
I somehow missed your first post. I would like to welcome you to the board, also.
A very nice website. Do you have alot of family in the org.? You do seem to be very happy. I hope to be happy one day, too.
I was born in Mo. and have been to Springfield. Beautiful area.
i've noticed many of you that have your own ministry.
i'm curious as to what doctrines you teach.
is it "jesus is love.
I don't have my own ministry.
I thought I knew the answers to your questions for over thirty years. I now just have questions, and don't feel qualified to give an answer to any of your questions.
I am still reeling from the dissillusioning feeling that I got when I found out that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society applied to be a Non-Governmental Associate of the United Nations and was associated with this body for ten years, publishing articles in the Awake magazine about their 50th anniversary and the year of the volunteer, etc., designed to make the United Nations good, while promoting its agendas, which is what they had to agree to do in order to be an associate of the UN. Of course, you may have read all the information that for years they published in their literature that the UN was a tool of Satan, but that didn't stop them.
I am also sick to know that the WTS would protect known pedophiles in its congregations and disfellowship victims who spoke out warning others of the danger.
So, no, no ministry of my own. Just a person who still hates wickedness, would love to worship God in the way that he wants but don't have the slightest clue since finding out that the men of the WTS made up so many of their own rules through the years.
once an elder asked me if i had any problems with masturbation?
i told him, no !!!!
that was before getting baptized.
Guess what? I was going over some old threads and I just now saw this reply to my question to Kittyeatzjdubs.
But this is such a good topic, and we have had so many new ones that I thought it merited more attention. I'll bet they'll be interested in reading about the wonderful shepherding tactics in the WTS.
Maybe some of the new JW apologists on the board will see this and want to explain how in reality these people were being helped by these types of questions.
good evening,.
i am a virgin to this forum do bear with me!.
i am curious who visits.
Quit going soon after my teen daughter was accused for over two and one half hours of fornication, lied to, called a liar, humiliated, demeaned, and just cruelly treated by a JC committee, who then df'd her with the words, "And if you are still disfellowshipped at Armageddon, you can take some comfort in knowing that Jehovah can read hearts."
Had enough. Didn't want to go back for more.
