Ha!! I hadn't thought about it in awhile. I used to think about how I could re-arange my closet to make more space, or how I could re-decorate some aspect of the house, or fantasize that my family could go on vacation somewhere and where it would be.
Sometimes I would try to read in the Bible more scriptures about the topic being discussed, but my elder husband would frown and point to the magazine. We always had to have at least two answers ready.
Sometimes I would look at the metal chair legs, where they were bolted in the floor through the carpet. You know, it always made me mad that no one ever (except me) cleaned around them. I'd see fingernails, etc. around them.
I wonder what they do at the hall now when it's time to clean. My husband, daughter, and I always did the cleaning when it was our turn. I would even clean the top of the bathroom stall dividers, as I am tall. They were always dust covered. I would clean the baseboards, etc.-places that no one else wanted to clean. I hope it is nasty looking now.

Welcome to the forum, donnalee.
I think your boyfriend is already beginning to see the downside of a friendship with you. He states that the elders have already "called him into their office." They are quickly trying to let him that he should not have further association with you. You are a wordly person. One who will die at Armageddon. Yes, the ones in the Kingdom Hall are nice to you, but this is their honest assessment of you. If you are not a baptized witness, you are in reality worshipping Satan. They want to "save" you from this fate.
Sorry to let you know this, but why prolong the relationship if there is no future in it if you do not become a witness?
Yes, like the others said, take time to investigate now and do lots of reading and research. One cannot do this if already baptized. To even look at this forum is forbidden for witnessess, and could result in shunning by all witnessess if one is baptized.

Suicide
by Regrets inhello all.. i post here under a different name but feel the need to unburden myself anonymously.
i hope you can understand.. several years ago, while married and an active dub, i had a one night stand.
i was mortified at what i had done because this had happened before and i had told my wife.

I also think that deep down your wife may suspect your secret. The fact that the paper is gone and she did not question you further says something.
I am glad that your plan did not succeed. You have worth. Your children need a father. One who loves and is proud of them. I hope you tell them this often. Please tell your wife the same and mean it.
I do not judge. All of us live with past mistakes. All of us are, after all, only human.

Shunning Policy
by sweet pea ina little bird told me that some members of the governing body are unhappy with the shunning policy and want it changed (presumably due to the bad press from sites like these).
apparently they were overruled.
is this yet another policy that will start to be diluted and eventually dropped altogether or what and can anyone back up the rumour?

I don't know what kind of bird it was that told you this, but they have recently been "crowing" through the pages of the WT magazine with articles about shunning and how it is hard but oh, so loving.......

How about his family? Will they help their son? They should be willing to help their grandchildren. Maybe you could move in with them until your husband decides what he will do or gets a job. Not a wonderful prospect, but you do need help from some direction and help with the chores of taking care of children.

Thanks for rescuing the snake. They are very important as they eat roaches and other insects that would come into your house. I love snakes. they are sleek and smooth. As long as you stay away from poisonous ones they will not bother you. Of course, with pets or kids in the yard, I would want the snakes to relocate.
I love cats also and have two.
Actually, other than roaches, I love all creatures. Well, some insects look creepy, and I don't get close to them, but all things have a purpose on our planet.

Would you rat out an Elder
by pratt1 inthis weekend i accompanied a few friends to a strip club in manhattan.
my wife doesn't like it too much, but since i promised her that a lap dance is asfar as i will go with a stripper, she tolorates it.. imagine my surprise when i noticed that an elder from my old congo was there along with several of his co-workers.. he tried to ignore me but before we left i stopped by his table and said hello.. he actually had the nerve to ask me if it was okay for us to speak.
i said since we were both in a strip club, it didn't matter.. my question - should i mention this to dubs i still maintain relationships with, who incidently worship the ground this elder walks on?.

In actuality, aren't you supposed to give HIM the opportunity to come forward to the elders and seek help for his transgression?
Maybe you could call him and ask him if he's yet sought counseling from his fellow shepherds. Tell him he has a week.
