  Losing Sight of the Prize

  11 Once we have learned about the prize, we have to work diligently to keep our eyes focused on it because we could lose sight of it. For example, when Solomon became king of ancient Israel, he humbly prayed to God for understanding and discernment so that he could judge His people correctly. (Read 1 Kings 3:6-12.) As a result, the Bible states, "God continued giving Solomon wisdom and understanding in very great measure." Indeed, "Solomon’s wisdom was vaster than the wisdom of all the Orientals and than all the wisdom of Egypt."—1 Ki. 4:29-32.

  i'm trying to find out the square footage of the selters printery which is the next largest after wallkill.

  does anyone have any info on this?.

  and how many books are being produced there each year now?

  Why doesn't the Elder's Book give any instructions about Armageddon?

  Anyone remember the stupidist of talks?

  i remember a talk being devoted to use of the correct grammatical pronunciation of words.

  in fact any elder or brother for that matter who didnt use the correct pronunciation was viewed as illiterate and dorky so the congregation snubbed them.... i remember the word machinations (of the devil) and the emphasis that it should be pronounced mack in nations.... another one was.

  behove was meant to be pronounced 'behoooved'.

  How Much Power Does an Elder Have?

  i keep seeing references to them and couldn't help but wonder.. how many elders does a kingdom hall have?

  what is the extent of their powers and authority?

  can they speak to someone who's been dfed?

  The JW elders have a remarkable amount of power bestowed upon them by the WTBTS and the members of their congregation; far more than you would ever imagine until the day you cross one of them!

  They are expert liars and can twist anything to their advantage. They are respected by most authorities as honest and upright, so anything you have to say is wrong and they are right.

  Anyone who thinks they are of no account; look out and be very careful.

  They are in fact no better than a 'street gang' in disguise!

  The KGB and the Stasi are mere kittens in comparison!

  I know from very bitter experience!
