  Raëlian movement

  i met this person which was inforved with the raelian movement.

  she quite believed everything, and she was a grade 3 member, whatever that is.. the things she believed in did not sound very bad, except for some obvious things.

  they seem less sectarian in some ways then dubs.

  After 10 years we finally get a Service Visit!

  " i had to open the door and call them back.

  i was really excited!

  Yes , we were really excited about our first visit for 35 years in 1993, then the Elder opened up as to why they really came. "Now I expect you have wondered why we don't ask you to read at the Book Study", "No", " Well we'll tell you anyway, you can't read because you don't go out on the service".

  They have never been back and I've never been on the service or to any meetings since, don't they make friends easily?

  No Field Service No Paradise

  my mom doesn't go out in field service or go to the book study or give talks or answer (never did 40 to 50 years now).

  she is however a loyal defender of the watchtower and she regularly goes to sun.

  and thur.

  Which did you fear more as a JW, God or the Elders?

  i felt that god understood if i missed meetings or didn't go out in the field service very much, but the elders wouldn't.. bottom line, i feared the elders more ...... that's pretty sad.

  I never feared God/Jehovah, it was the Elders, nothing was ever right! Never any pleasant conversation, either they were complaining about something I or other brothers had or hadn't done. Nobody ever volunteered was one of their main complaints, then when I volunteered they never ever came back to me, just ignored the situation.

  Perhaps I wasn't good enough to weed the grounds of Bristol Ass. Hall before it was opened, they could have told me . I had special disspensation to look after pushchairs one year at Cardiff, big deal!!

  Elders are loathsome creatures!! and excellent liars!!

  Is it possible for someone to "Love being a JW"?

  a few days ago, i met an old lady that has a jw as neighbour.

  she knows that jw couple since years, although she isn't a jw.

  so, i asked that old lady, "do you still see that jw couple once in a while", hoping for some kind of juicy news..... so, my question is, "how can a person love to be a jw" when so many others just "hate" being in that religion?.

  My wife loves, YES loves being a JW, any meeting, assembly or convention comes before anything else!

  over 50 years she can't be wrong, can she?

  Every spare minute of every day she reads the bible or the soc. literature!

  Where did I go wrong ?

  ok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?

  come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?

  i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.

  How can I move on when my wife is firmly stuck in to the Dubs? I have tried to oppose it, I have tried to join it and I have tried to fight it, all to no avail!

  This site has helped me so much, I will only leave the site when my wife is out or I am GONE!

  Is it appropriate to compile material that will be featured in the Theocratic Ministry School and distribute it to others?

  It is permissible to do this for the personal use of family members and a few close friends.

  However, such material should not be made available for general distribution or be provided in exchange for money,

  as this would be a violation of copyright laws.—Rom. 13:1.

  For certain assignments in the Theocratic Ministry School, only a theme is provided; no references are indicated as source material.

  Would it be beneficial for someone to work up a list of references or to compile source material that could be used by those who receive such assignments?

  No. Neither would it be proper to compile the answers to the questions in the Theocratic Ministry School Review for use by others, as this would not help them to fix important points in mind.

  Students should do their own research.

  This is an important aspect of the training that Jehovah provides by means of the school to help us speak with "the tongue of the taught ones."—Isa. 50:4.

  i put this in another thread but i would like to start a new one.. i was a jw when i got married but i left about15 years ago, my wife is still in.

  before we met she had a relationship (while she was a witness) with a guy and even had a child with him.

  (she did not get dfed for this.

  This may help you from 'The Flock Book',

  the latest thought seems to be, if it is agreeable to each partner in a marriage, anything is OK

  "It includes oral and anal sex or mutual masturbation
  between persons not married to each other,"

  so reading the converse means OK if you are married!

  Thanks for that information Nelly1, I don't know how I haven't come across it before!

  In a recent thread, I said I have been certain that JW's are a cult, for over 50 years.

  This is the best explanation and expose of JW's I have ever read, remember I am nearly 74 years old!
