Cross is a pagan symbol, watchtower is a pagan symbol too
by Noelle inyou all jehovah witnesses that said jesus didn't die on a cross but on a stake your wrong because the romans were pagans and what better way to crucify someone than on a pagan symbol.
i have a fact that you need to listen to as well, the watchtower which you symbolize is a pagan symbol as well.
oh no how can that be you ask, well let me tell you.. in ceremonial magic and some traditions of wicca and neopaganism, the four cardinal points are believed to have spiritual guardians called watchtowers.

Who can deny that JW's "blindly adore" and have "excessive devotion" to the "Faithful and discreet slave".
I had never seen this definition of idolotry before, but it certainly fits well. There is this entity that they
are convinced that God himself has put into place to channel his spirit through. Its so obvious that it is a form of
idolotry, by this one definition. -

This post upsets me.
In the description of what life will be like in the new system:
" We can look forward to growing back hair, teeth, etc"
Whats wrong with being bald!?
In the new system, all men will have hair on top their heads, no beards, flat stomachs, and will be at least 6 feet tall (2 meters).
All women will have flat stomachs and hour glass figures, and long hair. And everyone will be good looking.
Revelation 21:4
"he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and baldness shall be no more; neither shall there be ugliness, nor fatness, nor facial hair, any more: the former things are passed away." -

I remember an elder saying we would use bulldozers to bury the bodies.
This same elder loved motorcycles. He seemed excited about being able to pick and chose what motorcycle he could scavenge in the new system. -

I have zero sympathy for individuals who drive to work alone in a pickup that gets 16 MPG,
individuals who have office jobs.
I have great sympathy for individuals who actually use their vehicles to haul work related items
to job sites. -

could jw's prove their beliefs without watchtower literature?
by atpeace ini was pondering this question today.
i thought it might be an interesting tactic to use with my family.
if i simply asked that they prove all beliefs by the bible alone.. growing up - every time discipline or counsel was given - it was based on getting out the bound volumes.

Get an active JW to explain this:
Isaiah 44:6
6 “This is what Jehovah has said, the King of Israel and the Repurchaser of him,
Jehovah of armies, ‘I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God.
Notice Jehovah calls himself the "first and the last", and there is no other god but him.
JW's version of John 1:1
1 In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
JW's teach that Jesus was a god, but Isaiah 44:6 says there is no other god but Jehovah.
Revelation 2:8
8 “And to the angel of the congregation in Smyr´na write: These are the things that he says,
‘the First and the Last,’ who became dead and came to life [again],
This is Jesus talking, since he he was dead and came back to life. Notice Jesus calls himself the
fist and the last. Jehovah also calls himself the "first and the last". I imagine JW's teach they are
"first and last" in different ways, but when I was a JW, the comparison of these three scriptures bothered me. -

Noah's ark - Can't believe I once actually thought it was true
by sam_sane_now inwhen i was a jw i didn't even question that the noah's ark story might not be true.
i didn't realise that it wasn't achievable for a handful of people to gather literally millions of animals - two of each kind - and fit them into a boat where they would all survive for many days.
i didn't think about the fact that if the highest mountain was covered with water then how could plant life like trees and flowers come to exist again, especially so soon after, with the raven grabbing an olive leaf was it?

It was a miracle that the animals survived the trip in the ark.
So what does Noah do when he finally lands on dry land?
He builds an alter and starts burning animals.
Genesis 8:20
And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every
clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt
offerings on the altar.
