murphy, texas a sting in which police teamed up with "dateline nbc" to catch online pedophiles was supposed to send a flinty-eyed, texas-style warning about this dallas suburb: don't mess with murphy.. instead, it has turned into a fiasco.. one of the 25 men caught in the sting a prosecutor from a neighboring county committed suicide when police came to arrest him.
the murphy city manager who approved the operation lost his job in the ensuing furor.. and the district attorney is refusing to prosecute any of the men, saying many of the cases were tainted by the involvement of amateurs.. "certainly these people should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but the fact that this was all done for television cameras raises some questions," said mayor bret baldwin.. it is the first time in nine "dateline nbc: to catch a predator" stings across the country in the past year and a half that prosecutors did not pursue charges.. "dateline" has made prime-time entertainment out of contacting would-be child molesters over the internet, luring them to a meeting place, and videotaping their humiliating confrontations with reporter chris hansen.. I've been studying with JW's for a few months..
by MichaelM ini've been studying with the jw's for a few months and i've attended a few meetings but things are feeling somewhat strange...i don't quite get the jist of things but i feel that i'm learning more of what the watchtower teachers and less of what the bible actually says.. i never open my bible.. i'm always reading the watchtower pamphlets.
i really like the people i've met in the congregation and the guy thats been doing the studies with me has been an awesome friend.. .
but i'm just having some issues.. i mean.. they translated their own bible to suit their own doctrines it seems.

I've seen a few things that almost hint to a trinity, but mostly Jesus shows that hes a completely different person than god and is unknowing as to certain things god knows.. asking him for help, being lower than him, like the mediator in between.

grrr... like you said, you were just reading the WT, and yes, their Bible is skewed for their doctrine. For example, in Colossians adding the "he (Jesus) created all [OTHER] things" there is absolutely ZERO justification for this in the Greek. None.
If you want to believe in the Bible, I would suggest you read a Bible that is not printed by the WT, and without "their interpretation" even though they say they are the only ones who can understand the "deeper things" pfft.
Pick up a copy of Ray Franz book "Crisis of Conscience" immediately! Please!

How Do You Handle Compliments?
by smellsgood intoday i was followed around, complimented extensively and asked out by a guy at wal-mart (they have good prices on cake),,,i sort of felt like bolting, i felt extremely embarassed (and said as much) even though i was flattered.
it's nice to be complimented, at the same time i'm all giggly and squirmy,,, like they're telling me that i've got a head shaped like a walnut rather than...whatever.
do you take compliments well?

I didn't have younger siblings til I was thirteen, then I got two! The cool thing is is that my older bro is a brown/brown, me and my sister were both blonde/blue, and then when the younger brother came along he's blonde/blue and my sister is brown/brown. I'm jealous of the brown eyes!
