Thank you. You are an excellent 'stand-in' for those who will probably never see. I hope you don't mind if I just absorb it as if it were my very own, speaking just to me.

Why Are JWs So Hard To Get Through To?
by Tower Man inwe have a brand new audio mp3 on our site.
it's by fran sankey and it's called, "witnessing to jehovah's witnesses".
fran shares some practical witnessing tips, discusses the watchtower mindset and reveals reasons why jehovah's witnesses are so difficult to penetrate with the gospel.

I would agree that trying planting a seed to get them to consider that JWs rever the WTS - more than God or the Bible is good.
I also try to plant a seed to get them to observe that JWs have very superficial relationships, especially with each other. I might suggest to them that this is because they put a blushingly high value on 'tatelling'.

Church leader outlines child abuse policy
by ozziepost inin his presidential address to the 2002 synod, archbishop of sydney peter jensen said: .
"however, not all my efforts have been devoted to the mission as such.
let me say that the single most significant thing which has diverted me from it has been the task of attending to issues of sexual abuse.

As a former JW now loving and appreciating Catholicism, I would like to suggest that this is worth a deeper understanding. Thank you for a beautiful post.
I suspect the only people who just really can't figure out what is and isn't child abuse are child abusers.
(Same goes for a whole lot of other crimes.)

'Waiting on Jehovah'
by Dia inisn't this just a pitiful way of saying, 'i can't deal with my anger'....'just be passive and be quiet and don't have any expectations'....'life is just too difficult; count me out'....'i can't have any impact anyway so why should i even try?
'....and of just sitting somewhere on the very outside and just daydreaming of how god, or maybe even spiderman, is just going to come along one day and then, then really, "i'll show you!
"

Just bumping this up as it might be useful to some who are currently faced with some of the mind numbing actions and attitudes of JWs in their lives.

HOW BETHELITES MAKE MONEY
by JT init is called government work- it refers to gov employees being lazy and just getting a check.
well it has to do with bethelites being too lazy to go out and get a real job so we do side jobs to make money while at bethel.
and you can make alot if you are in the right "trade" electrician, plumber, tile setter, roofer, etc and it is all tax free.

Thank you for a great post. It was very enlightening.

JW's...the loving religion?
by Golden Girl ini posted an update on hubby's scan.
but i had a comment to make about the jehvah's witnesses which i will still have some contact with for a litte while.
hubby has always believed it to be the "truth" and always will.

ps - If it helps any, I think witnesses run from emotion. And matters of the heart.

My best wishes and prayers to you both.
Please feel free to come here when you want someone to talk with.
Suggestion: Can one of his work buddies go and fetch his mom? Perhaps ask a witness first (if you haven't done that already), just to put a pretty face on it and help them to 'allow' it.

ENOUGH! Villification, 'pagan', 'apostate'
by Dia in'pagan' just refers to those not yet christianized.
(like the entire world wasn't once filled with 'pagans'!
it's a 'catch-all' phrase.

Dia
Thank you.
Yes, they find great comfort in labeling things.
From where I sit, I see that the people they are labelling 'apostate' are mostly people who are exercising their constitutional right to freedom of speech.
Apparently an enormous threat to them.

Isn't It Ironic
by kelpie ini was reading the post on our standing within the congregation http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=40040&site=3&page=3 and no matter what part of the world we live in, its always the same thing.. it is always the elders kids that get away with murder while the ones that are really trying to do the right thing always get blamed for it.. when i would mention this to my mum she would always reply with, satan has already got them.
he is trying to get you.. if you are getting persecuted.. it means you are doing the right thing.. does that sound strange to anyone other then me?.

"...a pattern of unrepentance".
Well now, that could be the start of a new thread in itself.
The unique phrases that JWs use to control others. Concepts that you will not hear anywhere else in life.
Things that are a real challenge to wrap your mind around but which - always? - lead to a further irradication of your sense of self, worth or value.
You know, Christ died for mankind, but that doesn't mean he died for YOU.
