i remember once doing the closing prayer for field service.
at the time, i didn't know what to believe, and was simply going through the motions.
i would much rather been in bed.
You have not officially screwed up unitl you have given the wrong talk. Or on stage to read the WT with next weeks article. Or you have been missing the book study so much you didn't know it was changed to another location just for that week. I couldn't make this stuff up!!!!

what do you all do with your free time now guys..like hobbies and what not..like you pioneers there is 75 hrs you have to play around with if you know what i mean not to mention meetings and bible studying etc.

Well since I'm not completley out. I still spend time going to the meetings. But when I don't go I go to the movies spend quality time talking with my children. Renting movies for the family. Bowling on Saturdays. And my favorite...Taking my wife out to eat on meeting nights she hates it but she can't say no. She loves to eat out!!!

i was raised with a bookbag in my hand.
every saturday and sunday our family was out in service.i vacation, temporary and auxillary and regular pioneered.
i never enjoyed it but did it because i was supposed to do it.
I'm still in the Org and I haven't been out in service in months. I hate everthing about it. I hate getting up in the morning. I hate the fact that I have to wake my children up early to go do something thats not fun for me or them. I hate the meeting for service the ride to the territory. The knocking on the doors. Waking people up. The whole nine. Did I leave anything out.
I once heard an Elder say he would give a talk every Sunday at any Hall anywhere if he just didn't have to go out in service.

hi i've tried several times to post my not so now i'm going shorten it to i beleave that people go to the hall w/good intentions & strong beliefs which i have no problem with that in itself but i cant measured what 1 indivudual should or should not be doing.
i don't think that these same people would show up to evrery 5 meeting every week if they thought it was all a crock.
anyway, we must be careful beause what's good for the gander is not neccessarily good for the ganer.
This goes to show that drinking and posting don't mix.

1) i sacrificed work offered to me so i could earn more money.
2) i sacrificed my job as a well payed dj.
3) i sacrificed weekend ly-ins to go out preaching.
I gave up a great job in radio to sell cable TV. Then after I came to my senses I got back in radio and quit again to work at a plant building tires in 104 degree heat. Even people in the truth said I was stupid to do that......diamond
for me, it was the nfc championship game three years ago in order to attend the meeting, then, on top of that, the elders had *scheduled* a meeting for that day as well, to discuss the co visit.
then there was a "supplemental" elder's school held a few years back that took me away from the afc title game.
oh, i taped the stuff, but time-shift recording of sports just doesn't cut it.
I know I'm telling my age. But I missed the white shadow because it was shown on the same night that we had the book study. And since the book study was at our house I couldn't even fake sick.Diamond

since i have been posting on this site i found a lot of posts interesting and vice versa,but i have also noticed that cetain ones on here arent helping themselves by continually looking at faults in their former beliefs,i find that this cant help you as a victim, im not saying i am not guilty of doing this i did do it at first but then realised it wasnt helping me overcome the trauma of my former beliefs, surely by trying to focus on the future and on how you can improve your state of mind maybe by self help books,counselling,and maybe speaking to ones on here who can possibly help you get through what they have been through, i mean surely you want to break free from the chains you used to be in.. dont get me wrong im not being harsh but only trying to help others,i mean jw.com is an open discussion forum to a degree,i also find it enjoyable on here,sometimes its not enjoyable because certain individuals are quite negative about views they dont agree on and i do expect that.. so has jw.com helped you or hasnt it.. are you addicted to this site and cant live without it.. also i do tend to take my previous beliefs lightly and have a joke about the things that were taught and went on,i try not to take it to serious at least im free from it and have my own mind that makes me so happy.
I have to agree with the others. When I first found this site I thought I was the only one going through this HELL. I was amazed to find out that so many other had the exact same situation as me. When I first posted I was encouraged at all the help and advice given to me. It was and still is wonderful. Even though I don't post alot, I'm here everyday reading and getting encouragement from people like me that I don't even know.....So my answer is YES. This place has helped me out alot.
the august 14, airing of connie chungs program with bill bowes's issues with in the watch tower, deserves a thank you note from all who really are concerned and desire more on the part of the news media.
