There's way more available women then men in the org, so the men have plenty to choose from.
The women just have to take what they can get.

by donny inabout two weeks ago i was having lunch at an establishment that has tables set up on the outside (actually a sidewalk) and as i was waiting for my order, i overheard two guys talking at the next table.
a homely guy who had a pretty girl on his arm brought this response.

I just want this to stop!
by mrsjones5 inas some of you know my husband became ill and we lost our house in indiana.
my parents offered to help and although i really didn't want to do it knowing that my parents have limited resources i really didn't have a choice.
i also wanted to come back to a place that was familiar and where most of my family and friends are.

How Did You Deal With Weirdo JWs?

we had one certain mama's boy who made sure he was dressed up properly, especially in the winter.
she'd make sure he had his "rubbers", scarf, hat and gloves.

Science in the bible......
by insearchoftruth inlast week my wife and i were returning from a trip to the store and she starts talking about how amazing the bible is and how one should really not need to take any science classes, cause everything that one needs to know is in the bible.
she sites the creation story on how it is all in the bible that there was first water, then earth, then vegetation.........i really did not even know how to reply.
i asked her if she ever really critically read genesis for what it said, it is an interesting story, but there are many inconsistencies and even contradictions within the written word.....but of course she attributes that to the mistakes of man recording the information, since every word of the bible is of course inspired by jehovah.

I learned in Hebrew school that upon the circle from Isaiah 40:22 literally means Compassed
If you don't like the version you have then read another or else learn Hebrew.
Point being though that even with your interpretation it still does not supply us with any information that would be considered advanced for that time period, thus maybe sugesting that the bible does have divine origins.
Bible thumpers are so desperate to believe that the bible has something beyond basic common knowledge that they are happy to translate it "circle" and then try to get the rest of us to believe that a sphere and a circle are the same thing.

Cuz some people don't need it.
I've never in my life used deoderant, just being clean works fine for me.
The people I've been around that stank to high heaven also appeared not to be to clean,
they really needed a bath, not deoderant.

New to the Forum
by creativhoney inhi i have been on a few days - im not sure how it all works but heres my history - maybe people can relate to it... well basically when i was nine years old my brother died from an epileptic fit.
there were four of us, the eldest who died, another brother, me and my younger sister.
shortly after the witnesses came knocking on my mums door.

well, incidentally, the man who did the bible study with my dad, became my stepdad within 6 months and we moved into his house.
What's the only thing worse then a couple of JW teenagers getting married?
I JW parent that marries almost immediately after the other parent dies/leaves/divorces.
The thought just makes me ill.
The kids just get kicked around like so much excess baggage.

those who don't hear the "truth" will get a second chance in paradise, so we are just condemning people to death who close the door on us!
also babies and children of worldly people will be killed with their parents which contradicts this first policy.....any thoughts??.

My JW x-husband would often say "If we really cared about people we would find ways to kill as many as possible, that way they would get a resurection into the new system. We could save a lot more that way then going door to door!"
Of course he wasn't serious, it was his own cognitive dissonence speaking out load.
He's no longer a dub now.

Today I went to the Doctor with Barbie Doll.
by PEC inin the waiting area, there were two awake trashazines, i promptly deposited them in the nearest trash can.
there are patients in the waiting area, so i couldn't shred them, without making a seen.. last time we were there, there was an awake in the lab waiting area.
it's very important; that, if you see any of this trash, laying around anywhere, deposit it in the nearest trash can.

I keep labels in my purse that say "example of cult propaganda" and slap one on the covers of mags I find at public places.
I also use labels that say " WARNING, the watchtower society silences victims of child abuse, read at your own risk"
I also have printed out wanted posters for Fred Mclean, a JW who is one of the US marshalls 15 most wanted fugitives. He is a serial child molester that the societry freely allowed to move from congo to congo molesting dozens of children. I like to slip one of those posters inside the mags too.
Just little things that make me feel good inside.

Why do Witnesses think the world is so bad? Here's another reason
by BonaFide ini know the fact that the publications say the world is bad, and the beginning of so many public talks.
and the introductions in the field ministry.. but here is something i have been thinking about.. jw's are not exposed to people from all walks of life.
growing up in the truth, most of the bro's in my hall worked in construction, cleaning, office workers, or ups.

The world is so bad under Satans system of things that it isn't possible to live happy lives.
And so why even try to take resposibility for your life, there's nothing you can do about it until the new system anyway.
When you don't take resposibility for your life, it usually turns out pretty crappy.
A self-fulfilling prophecy ................. the only kind the society is good at.
