  I was never DF'd, I left of my own free will.

  Groups of men who gang up on under age minors, verbally abusing them, sexually harassing them, judging them and casting them out of there social groups, aught to serve jail time in my opinion.

  The man snidely remarks with a smirk on his face, "Is this the usual response you give when people like us show up at your door?"

  This is a governing body indorsed reply to “I’m not interested”.

  It is in the literature, I can’t remember if it was a watchtower or a book.

  i just went to the silentlambs website and there is a link to criminalcheck.com where you can find registered sex offenders by zip code.

  so i typed in the zip code of the territory from my old congregation and i was surprised at how many people popped up.

  there was three pages of names and on almost all of those names i recognized the street address as one that i went door-to-door on.

  I heard of one woman in the central part of Washington state that was raped and killed by going door to door by herself. She was in her 20's if I remember right. I was a teenager at the time and it was kept as hushed up as could be. You could not get anyone to talk about it. Scarred me to death but all I heard was it was her fault really because she went by herself. Sick

  I heard this story too, but I heard it was a sister in Seattle. It was told to me by an elder in our congregtion, he said "the elders told her not to go out alone, but she did, so she did not have jehovahs protection."

  The JW's, once again, blame the victim.

  in 1993, a former jehovahs witness kingdom hall in commerce became the new spiritual home for some two dozen catholic families and it was named st. catherine laboure to honor sister catherine and the french nun who was given the vision of mary now inscribed on the miraculous medal.. .

  i know personally that the Kingdom Hall in question here had dry rot and was filled with every sort of rats and vermin imaginable

  How Would You Reply?

  My previous, Jdub self, would think "Jehovah would know, and me and the kids would die at the big A"

  My current self thinks "isn't that kind of counter productive of them to harass the R&F about accuracy? Don't they WANT those big, big numbers? The amount of hours is completely meaningless anyway, so the bigger the better!"

  zen has some of the classic ones.

  the moral consequences of doing whatever you do is that you will be the sort of person who did that.. "it's best to ride the horse in the direction it's going.".

  This one was key to getting me out of the borg. I did exactly as they told me to do for decades and my life was miserable on every level. I finally had to admit that no matter how hard I tried I would never get different results.

  I just feel like crying... I'm so fed up of the hypocrisy!

  i was very disgusted with the wt study for today.. towards the end of the article it refers to matthew 15 (see quoted scripture below).

  this is a beautiful passage where jesus says his followers need to be hospitable, care for sick, hungry and imprisoned brothers.. they turn it around and say that for jw's this means they need to support the "faithful and discreet slave" by going in door-to-door witnessing, making monetary contributions to support the worldwide witnessing work, and following the directions and counsel of congregation elders.. and the worst part of it all is that there were several commenters giving almost word for word answers to that effect, they didn't even seem to listen to previous comments, they just repeated mindlessly what the paragraph said... i was ready to burst.

  mom knew i was about to have a fit right there and then.

  The last few meetings I attended were just brutal, it brought out an anger in me that I did not know existed.

  yes I do have some good memories. There are some really fine people that are JW's.

  Just like in the real world.

  Leaving the JW's, is by far, the greatist achievment of my life, I doubt that I will ever top that one, it's pretty impressive.

  I am extremely proud of it.
