  Does anyone out there understand how i feel?

  my name is tim, im 23, from the uk, and im currently a jw!.

  ok... to cut a long story short... i love serving jehovah but ive begun now to embrace my sexuality as a gay man.. although im still attending the meetings, praying to jehovah and trying my hardest, i can no longer lie to myself about my sexuality.. i have had enough of feeling depressed and confused now - its killing me!!!.

  does anyone else know what i feel like?

  At 23 your old enough to know whats best for you. Please do rely upon your own independant thoughts and understandings.

  dawkins raises a point which some, if not many, theists will dismiss as irrelevant, but i am not exactly sure why.

  He cannot father more children because he is now dead.

  It is insane that he was allowed to continue to inpregnate women after his conviction.

  At least now he cant father any more children.

  Its to bad the courts couldn't do a little snip snip once he was behind bars.

  Some people, in extreme cases like this one, should not be allowed to reproduce.

  this is what the guest speaker was saying at my wife's hall yesterday.

  she and i was babysitting our niece and since she had three kids going to the hall with her (including my two daughters) i figured i'd go with her to help out.

  they were rambuctious and wild to say the least.. while i was in the hallway with my youngest daughter, i continued to listen to the speaker talk.

  That is the pressure they put on kids to get baptised.

  I was told repeatedly that I was getting to old to ride into the new system on my parents coattails, and I must make my own dedication or I would die at armegeddon.

  Hey kids, Get baptised or die!.......................no pressure, the choice is yours!

  i ran into a father and his 10 yr old jw daugther .

  i asked for the mag's and started anti= witnessing.

  i'm guessing the man was about 40 yrs old and ask him how long he's been a member of the wts.?

  I think talking directly to JW kids, like you did, has a big impact on them.

  I always do the same when JWs come to my door, so far, I have not had any JWs drag their children away from the evil householder, and all conversations have ended civilly.

  And the kids have been all ears.

  I feel for you Crimson, that sounds like nothing but stress to me.

  People like your older sister seem to have a need to keep things stirred up and dramatic. They create problems where no problems exist and run back and forth telling one person what the other person said, and then go back to the first person and tells them what the other person said. They also tend to accuse people of what they themselves are guilty of. I use to know a couple of people like that, I was able to get away from the situation though.

  You said SA doesn't unload on you when your hubby is home, any chance you can avoid her unless your hubby is home? I know it might be hard with him driving a truck, but is it possible for your own sanity?

  interesting points from this week's wt study (dec 15 2010 study edition):.

  par 12: "do i encourage my children not to view the song between the theocratic ministry school and the service meeting or the one between the public talk and the watchtower study as a sort of intermission,an opportunity for them to leave their seats unnecessarily, perhaps just to stretch their legs?".

  why do they have to make such a big deal out of everything?

  If I, or one of my kids needed to get up, I would always try to do it during the meetings, never during the song.

  Cause they were constantly harping on people using the song as break time.

  Looking back, I now realize it was a small act of rebellion on my part, and passive agressive.

  Sometimes passive agressive is all you got.

  i know that since the witnesses don't like education b/c one might learn to think, members are consigned to certain jobs.

  brothers held jobs as cheap soe salesman, that type of thing.

  some security without a gun.

  Window washers and office cleaning is very popular among the "friends"

  I have even heard those occupations praised at assemblies as a good choice.

  Growing up JW, for a while, when I was in grade school, I had to get up at 3:00 am to help my stepdad clean offices, we would usually be home in time for me to go to school, but sometimes not. If it had not been required by law, I would never have been allowed to go to school.

  My JW ex was a window washer, office cleaner and carpet cleaner. As were many others in out circuit.

  How I Know The Assembly Parts Are Made Up

  we had a co looking for a certain experience for an assembly part coming up and the elders in my hall at the time sent him to see me, since i usually had good experiences out in field service.. anyway, after speaking with the co, i was sorry to inform him that i did not have an experience that suited the type he needed.

  he told me that was o.k.

  because he could use me anyway for another part.

  I know that assembliy parts are made up too,

  I had a couple of experiences very similar to yours, where I saw what was happening behind the scenes.

  So by the time I got asked to give an experience at the assembly, I knew to flat out say no from the begining, I knew my experience would be stretched till it was unrecognizable and I wanted no part of it.

  That was when I stopped going door to door completely.
