Any Nintendo Wii'ers out there?
by Jourles inhands down the best new game system you can buy.
forget the ultra-highend graphics, being part of the game is where it's at.
we've had one for a couple months now and even my wife loves to play all the games we have for it.. bsom's thread about d&d reminded me of something...you know how many jw's will watch lord of the rings but will spurn harry potter due to the witchcraft portrayed?

Then I called to Jehovah to protect me as I thought it was demon attack ,and I was released .
But this was pivotal in me becoming a JW
Sadly, i think this phenonemom drives many people straight into JW mind-control. I've heard similar stories while I was still a faithful dub. They always ended with the person saying "Jehovah" and then they are suddenly released. My understanding is these episodes only last for very short periods of time anyway, so I am sure saying "George Bush" would have the same results.

and the result was that I got screwed (financially), by his "positive thinking," and a few more people after him (including his wife).
It sounds like it worked for him!
I was making an attempt at levity with my other post, but yes, i do believe in it. In grade school I loved Laura Ingells Wilder's books. One of the wisdoms that her mom passed on to her was "There is good in every bad" And one year when they lost all their crops, Laura found some comfort in the fact that she wouldn't have to feed the itinerent workers at harvest time. This had a big effect on me as a little kid, and has helped me at times when I have been at my lowest.
At the very least, a bad experience is a learning experience.

BTW, it's taken me three days to fugure out why you've been calling me "asinac"
I almost PM'd you yesterday, to ask what it meant. But I decided to give it another day.
Hmmm, is it a joke that I forgot? is it something spelled backwards? Is it an anagram?
But now I get it.
And I'm feeling pretty dense right now too....

The "power" of positive thinking...do you believe in it?
I might believe in it, but I'm not really sure.
Sure seems like an awful lot of effort, and it probably won't work anyway.
But yeah, maybe, ............ or maybe not.

No I haven't, but know those who have.
JW's think they are demon attacks.
There is a name for it, but I can't think of it right now. I understand that weight or pressure is a common sensation with it.

Along the way, I went to three different elder schools. Each was heaped in legalistic secretive "How to manage the
sins of others without a lawsuit" kind of stuff.Just had a little epiphany as to why there are so many more females then males in the Org.
The males get that extra dose of hypocrisy that us females usually don't get to see.
Thanks for your post, very well written.

My husbands observation...
by megsmomma inwe were just discussing the whole thing about how only those jw's that live through the big a will be able to still be sexual beings and pro-create.
he said that the society is useing our most natural desires to scare everyone into staying in the org and hoping, above all else to live through the big "a".
and i was saying to him that if i still believed what they taught, i would kill him and my baby to save them.

Underbeliever, you may remember this incident that happened in our own state a few years ago. It was never stated that he killed his family to "save" them. But i couldn't help but think that when the news broke.
Family of six found dead; police believe father killed family, then self

How much do you spend on groceries each month?
by aSphereisnotaCircle inwe spend about $500 per month.
that's with a family of three, two adults and one small child.
included in that is dog and cat food, and other household items many people buy at the grocery store, such as shampoo, detergent, paper products etc.

I find that having a greenhouse where I grow cucumbers and bananas, helps me with budgeting both grocery and orgy expenses.
(no comment, can't stop giggling...)
