Why don't you go to the Albany congregations and ask about their cover ups of child molestation?

Ask them why they allowed Leanne moon to be molested for years by ANOTHER molester who also admitted to molesting scores of children, by the name of Don Seargent? (Don't worry, Simon, he was also a CONVICTED sex offender)

Avishi could you provide links to more info concerning this case?

I live near Albany and I want to be sure the JW's who come to my door are aware of it.

i don't believe the bible is anything more than a religious text written by men.

i have no reason to believe there's anything beyond the natural world.

hello folks.

i touched on this answering another thread and it made me think.

i remember seeing fairly often married couples at times verbally sparring in public at times in the kingdom hall or parking lot.

Most of the heated arguments between spouses happen at home, not at the Kingdumb Hell. There, you are supposed to look and act happy no matter what, so you can perpetuate the illusion that this is the perfect place to be.

My ex JW hubby treated me like a queen in front of others. Showered me with presents (always in public view), very attentive and kind. But once we were alone, and there was no audiance, he treated me like crap or just acted like I didn't exist.

In hindsight I realize it was very important to him to be perceived as the perfect, long-suffering husband. Who was unfortunately burdoned with an erratic, unstable wife. He worked very hard to create this image.

There was something beneath the mascara: a large-hearted, happy, non-judgemental person.

I agree with you TMS.

I admired her strength and ability to just keep on going. i do believe she was a genuine person, and not putting on a front.

No joke intended, but I think the heavy make-up gave her a kind of shield that made it easier to face the world. A lot of people like to hide behind dark glasses, she hid behind her make-up.

something always bugged me about the society's publications.

they'd always use phrases like "many persons do this" or "one expert says", or "many believe".

the person being referred to or quoted is always veiled in obscurity.

I got to the point when I was crossing out so much passive text in every WBTS publication that it left it basically unreadable.

my take is 2 fold 1, if god made it, why wouldn't he want us not to grow it and 2, i take it they think jesus was clean cut as well in 30 ad.

Absolutely, for example, when was the last time you saw a female executive dressed like a JW women? Sisters dress nothing like their "executive" counterparts.

I assume this harks back to the days when there were no female executives, so therefore the GB likes to see the females dressed like southern baptist women.

Tony Robbins - huckster or hero?

i have recently run into a few tony robbins "devotees" at work, so i started doing research on his past, his trials, and his writings; the fiji island resort and the 10 grand fire walking seminars.

do any of you have experience with tony?

i'd like to hear your thoughts.

I have fire-walked and can assure that there is no hocus-pocus, or need for higher state of conscienceless.

The event was hosted by a man who only asked for a donation of what you could afford. I donated $40.

I walked over the coals twice and it was exhilarating. My partner walked across once and got burned when a coal got caught between his toes.

Robbins annoys me, but he has helped a lot of people so I think he's allright.

The society doesn't get there reasong from the bible on this matter and do not claim to.

The reason for no facial hair is because the dubs are suppose to dress like business executives. And of course, the GB decides what a "business executive" should dress like.

These are the silly opinions of a group of very old, institutionalized men, who have never even been remotely in touch with reality.
