I'm new and wanted to introduce myself
by MarkedFragile inhello everyone.. i'm new to this forum.
i left the organization several months ago, and am on a new path now.
though i didn't grow up in the organization, i have basically lived a life of pretending to be something i'm not, sheltering my feelings from everyone, and not feeling "enough" to anyone.

Aposta-men, Do You Know How to Sew?
by White Dove inthe men in the coven i was in knew how to use a sewing machine quite well.
it was required for first degree work that everyone make a ritual garment.
some covens in the assembly had to make their own tabards, too.

Ladies- did you treat the assemblies like a fashion show?
by JimmyPage inwas the major draw for you being able to wear a new dress?
or to put your kids in cute little outfits?
surely it wasn't the mind-numbing talks..

Yep, I know a couple of men who can sew very well.
And one of them isn't even gay...

It was a small stuffed kitty and my mom suggested getting you to help me make it. I was too shy to ask.
Oh I wish you had asked, I love doing that sort of thing.
I recently made the dresses for a friends wedding (former JW) but before that I hadn't sewn in years.
We copied dresess from the "lord of the rings" movie, it was so much fun, and it got me back sewing again.

I always sewed a new dress for each day of the assembly, and a new one for each of my daughters too.
When I was a dub my wardrobe was about 90% dresses.
I currently have zero dresses.
Funny how religion can make such a huge impact on simply how you wear clothes.

The Marks the WT is God's Only Org on Earth
by maputo95 inwith monotous regularity, my jw friend says the proof that the org is god's only divinely inspired org on earth is the fact that they go door to door.
how should i respond to this convuluted logic?.

Ask him to explain why door to door work proves it.

Rob LobLaw will always be my favorite.
I understand he is an attorney, and maintains a popular blog.
It's the Rob Loblaw law blog

I don't see why not.
Sister in my old hall won big on Wheel of fortune years ago when it was a hot new show.
Her daddy was/is a very well known elder. I never heard any of the dubs condemn her for it.
