before i begin, i want to say that i really don't want to start yet another creation vs evolution debate so please don't go down that road with this thread.
that debate has been done many times aleady!.
i know there are many christians and other religious people on here who believe in god or gods and yet do accept evolution as the way we all came about.
Good question amhaaret.

i got talking to my mother yesterday about my alcoholism issues and slightly touched upon how my jw past has had a bearing on it.. she was telling me about a lady who cuts my nan's hair who turns out is an ex jw and we know her family.
apparently this lady drinks heavily and every day, at the same time is angry about her jw past and the way she's treated by family even though sh'es not df'ed.. we had a small chat about my alcoholism and that i could relate to this lady.. anyway it got me realising that there are a number here who have similar issues, so i would like to post this link.. http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/.
it's a forum that covers addiction in general, it has helped me loads.
What's LLB mean, dig?
I't latin for Bachelor of Laws blondie. I got the following from wiki,
The "LL." of the abbreviation for the degree is from the genitive plural legum (of lex, legis f., law), thus "LL.B." stands for Legum Baccalaureus in Latin
It's basically the qualifying degree that all barristers and solicitors in England and Wales must take before they get their vocational training.
I haven't really got practicing law as a goal, but would like to get into teaching or research. It opens up doors for many things, the degree i'm doing is the oldest LLB in the country with London Uni, i've even got an option of studying at Cambridge for a week each year, which is unbelievable considering i was a homeless drunk 6 years ago.

let's try this again...most of us are aware that all available evidence points to the time of jerusalem's destruction at the 586/7bc time frame.
overwhelming evidence includes astronomical phenomena, achaeological evidence, bank records, the bible itself.. some hold to 607bc, for obvious reasons- the implications it has.
thoughts on how this would effect the average witness if forced to conclude 607 is wrong?
It wouldn't make any difference to them whatsoever, in fact i'd argue that it could be of benefit to them to accept 586/7
I have heard a witness say even if Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 that would mean Satan was cast down in 1934 and history shows that the last days prophecy has had a major fulfillment since 1934.
Think about it, what hapened in 1934? ... Hitler came to power
If the WTBTS took 1934 as the new date they could even bring back in the 'generation' teaching.

after many, many years outside of the jw world, my elderly parents finally decided to give me an ultimatum.
i either rejoin the jw's or they will never speak with me again.
apparently my brother is going to get the same choice.
Guys we've missed a first poster...
Welcome milola, you'll find many here who have been through a similar experience.

It's a forum that covers addiction in general, it has helped me loads. It helps when AA doesn't, it also helps as a compliment to AA. There is a secular forum on there for those who have issues with AA and the God/higher power stuff, but it also has forums for those who go to AA.
I'd recommend anyone who thinks they may have a drink problem to take a peek.
Personally i'm now 11 months sober and about to finish my first year of my LLB law degree.

does anyone know what the watchtower's stance is on marrying a person who has been divorced on grounds of spousal abandonment?
the person who was divorced is not a jw, and the other person is inactive, but baptised and is currently going to meetings.
if they were to marry would any action be taken against the baptised person.
I think there is a way that they can remarry without df'ed. If the ex partner is untraceable i was under the impression that it can be assumed they have committed adultery if many years have passed.
My ex got remarried with no letter from me or any admitting of adultery and never got d'fed. She just basically convinced the elders that i had.

do the zionists, (not thejewish people but their real leaders such as the rothschilds,) plan to do to the usa what they have done to the palestinians?.
are the american people about to be wiped out of existence to give the fabled land 'merica' of the freemasons / illuminati, to the zionists as their real, in their opinion, promised land?.
the freemasons were promised, if they went west that they would find their promised land of merica.. .
Is the USA about to become the new Palestine?
You for real??? How anyone can equate the people of palestine to US citizens is beyond me.
