Children Learning to Think Critically Aged Six!
by lifelong humanist inyesterday, i started a thread about learning how to thinking critically.. so, imagine my surprise when last night my eldest son phoned to say that his son, my grandson, wanted to speak with my wife and i about a project he had to do at his school.
he has just turned 6 years old.
the project involved asking his parents and then grandparents questions about how things when they were a similar age.. i said that i'd be happy to speak with him, and answer his questions as best i could.

JW Elders Wife beds anything in troucers
by Hairyhegoat inwell were do i start.. this elders wife was after anything with troucers on.
my 2 freinds that were still in were groaped by her and both bedded her aswell!
my brother who is now out and df told me she loved a good roasting.

I was BANE...I have an apology to most of you.
by Botzwana ini was bane and i think i got banned because everytime i tried to log in i couldn't.

You can't be a real effective witness unless you own a computer"- That was said to me when I didn't have one.
That's an interesting one, i remember back in the early 80's when computers were becoming the new must thing to have, there was a talk given by the circuit overseer at our circuit assembly to suggest that it was a bad thing to own a computer. I remember afterwards hiding the fact i owned a zx spectrum.

Is being brought up a Jehovah's Witness child abuse?

personally my parents became jw's when i was 13 so i never had the earlier years within the religion.
but by being controlled so much during my teen years i would liken it to abuse.

Personally my parents became JW's when i was 13 so i never had the earlier years within the religion. But by being controlled so much during my teen years i would liken it to abuse. Being told not to bother with an education, being told where and when i could go anywhere in my late teen years and not doing the 'normal' teenage thing was abuse. Being repressed sexually was abuse. Not making my own mistakes and finding my own way was abuse. Being told that i could only go out with a girl if there was a view to marriage was abuse. In fact i'd say my whole teenage experience and my lost youth was abuse.
But occasionally when i bump into an old friend who is still a JW, some have not had the negative experience that i have had. Some old friends i may bump into from time to time who are ex jw's also have not been as messed up as i did. So i do question whether the whole JW thing is abuse or was it just my experience.
As i feel that my teenage years were abuse, does that therefore make my mother an abuser? Or was she just doing what she thought was right by her two sons? I still love my mother, there may still be a slight resentment still there for introducing us to the JW faith, although i will readily say that it was abuse i'm at odds to describe my mother as an abuser.....hope i'm making sense.

Need Help From British Football Fans
by XJW4EVR ini have closely followed the premier league for the last 13 matchdays, and i am getting ready to pick a team that i will not only follow this year but for the foreseeable future.
i am not interested in chelsea, manchester u., manchester city or arsenal.
all four remind me of teams i loathe in american sports (cowboys, yankees, celtics).
