the hardest thing to do, i think, must be to make a movie and get it sold, when everyone already knows the ending.
I've read the series 10 times or so, and I can say that I loved certain aspects of the movie and absolutely detested certain parts. The whole creation of the Uruk-Hai orcs was awful as was the fight between gandalf and sauraman....i also felt they over dramatized the ring wraiths...maybe i'll see it again, but i'm not sure right now.

the wts cleverly and insiduously "pushed" the date of 1975 on the congregation of jws.
this is especially true since the year of 1968 and the release of the "blue bomb" or "truth" book, which finally totalled in circulation over 100 million copies in some 115 languages worldwide.
they were saying the same thing with the Knowledge book a few years ago....they just want to create a sense of urgency in the brain washed followers.

i've always appreciated some good story telling and gangsta rap to counter my usual music tastes (indie and 60's music).

starting tomorrow the only way to have access to the viewing platforms that were built in order to let visitors have a "closer" look at the ruins at gz is by obtaining a "pass" being handed out every day early in the morning.. this to accomadate the large crowds and demands to view the ruins.. if you dont get a pass to be able to go up the 13ft.platform which can accomadate about 400 people at a time, then you have to view the ruins from the perimeter established.. i wanted to post this info.
in order to keep showing everyone that the wt boasts of having jws walking "around the debris" talking to others about the "truth" is a lie.. as you can see the closest that you can get is only through one of the viewing platforms-and now only with a pass.. and no freddy, i'm not talking about standing next to the bank and streching out your neck as far up as you can.. mav.-

there was an email going around saying how President Bush was witneesed to at Ground Zero or something....total lie. I was up in NYC on Saturday, and I had no desire to go see the ruins. It was strange enough not seeing the twin towers on the train ride up... the closest I got was Greenwich Village - which isn't very close.

i saw vanilla sky yesterday.
it was engaging with a surprise ending.
I loved Vanilla Sky....I loved how they used the music and especially how they used that unreleased Sigur Ros song at the end on the rooftop scene. I bought Open Your Eyes on DVD and while I felt it was good, I felt that it was slightly more forward than VS and the acting in VS was superior. Small, subtle touches that Cameron Crowe added (like how he recreated scenes from the movies, the bob dylan album) makes it the superior movie.

the little girl stands for your family within the organization all the attempts they will make to encourage you to come back and have their approval if you will just submit.
the best friend represents all those that you grew up with in the organization, people you have known all your life, those who you may see once a year at the district convention who rush up to you and are so happy to see you, they make you feel secure and a part of something.

I thought it was an above average movie, but Russell Crowe's accent was beyond terrible. Sometimes you couldn't even tell what he was saying.
