here's some experiences of some people i knew in the truth who had personal problems.
who were they to turn to , why the mature elders , even better you could write to the society.. so what happened?.
friend 1.. friend number one knows he is gay ,he likes men big boys.
both friends acted foolishly....the elders and the WTS were doing their jobs according to WTS guidelines.

thanks to the supportive words and encouragement of many here, i am now officially a student at arizona state university.. i just went to campus, and got a hard copy of the general catalog at the book store, and i went to the computer lab to setup my access.
just seeing the young and old, people of all sorts of ethnic backgrounds, milling around campus, all engaged in the wonder of learning, made me take pause and think about how silly the jw prohibition on college is, and how completely a learning environment can shatter the witness world view.
part of me wanted to cry, and another part of me was intrigued by the hot young college chicks...heh.. it is wonderful to be able to make choices for oneself.. any recommendations for my first course?

keep in mind that the blood cards are produced and circulated in all other countries worldwide.
if they are not so in the us, please do not scream too loudly that major changes are occuring etc., because this has got to be some local us thing, if it is true what you say that they are not renewed in the us.

yesterday my brother (ever-loyal witness baptized same day as me 10 years ago; who is married to a holier-than-thou regular pioneer and subsequently with her encouragement has since avoided me as much as possible since i da myself) and his wife (see description above) came over to visit.. well.. shooting the proverbial shit, we got to the topic of movies.
asking politely if he or his wife had seen lord of the rings.. she interjected that it was inappropriate because it suggested wizardry and spiritism, and would never see such filth.
trying very hard to remain polite, my mom noticed the pause and said if they wanted to borrow any movies we have on tape to watch at home.. sneaky as i am, while they flapped their gums with my parents i glanced in the bag to see what they borrowed.. they took:.
DIM: While I appreciate your comment, I do have a grip. As you well know, thinking independently was a no-no and conforming to the authority of the elders even if they were blatantly wrong was something all within the Borg had to swallow. Frankly, Im enjoying my newfound freedom, and I refuse to bite my tongue for anyone. Ill say whats on my mind and if someone doesnt like it.. tough. "Why should anyone respect me?" Apparently Im not part of the "IN" crowd here.Ive noticed that trend.
Specific people respond to specific people... I thought people would learn from leaving the Org to be a bit more comforting to others who were oppressed by it. I take the time and effort to encourage others or stand up for what I believe is right if someone posts about their life or current experiences, apparently most view me as not worth the same courtesy. get a grip, maybe people couldn't think of anything to say or haven't seen your post yet. Why should anybody respect you when you curse them out for not posting to your topic? I for one think that there has always been blatant hypocrisy w/ entertainment. in my neck of the woods, Lord of the Rings was OK, but Harry Potter was deemed demonic. I'm just outside of Philadelphia, PA.
