  the other day, i was messaged by a young jw guy (using yahoo messenger, where i am breezyone2001; chat me up, gang!).

  his opening line to me was, "why are you attacking the witnesses?

  " i responded by asking him in what way i was attacking the witnesses, and he said that he saw my name in a yahoo club for ex-jw's.

  The Staff Meeting

  the staff meeting.

  the boss called a spontaneous staff meeting in the middle of a particularly stressful week.

  when everyone gathered, the boss, who understood the benefits of having fun, told the burnt-out staff that the purpose of the meeting was to have a quick contest, whose theme was "viagra advertising slogans.".

  stephen bates recently wrote an article about the flogging death of a girl in chicago http://www.guardian.co.uk/archive/article/0,4273,4301026,00.html.

  he kindly sent me a copy of a letter he received from the wts office in pennsylvania and gave me permission to post it.

  i don't have time to fix the formatting right now.. .

  No Change in 1991 - Library Card

  i received the folowing two emails from dana loytved who is senior reference librarian at the un library in nyc.. in view of her first reply i asked her what procedure the wts used to access the library before 1991. her second reply is a bit cryptic but she states with confidence that there were no changes in procedure.

  i don't want to pester these kind folks any more.. .

  the procedure for a library pass is the following: the interested party needs to fill out an application form and supply a letter of recommendation in support of the research.

  I just wanted to add my thanks for your time and effort in this matter.
  As Hawk noted, if it was not for JosephAlward this issue would not remain to the fore. And I guess we should be thankful for his apparent pedantry in this. I mean no offense to Joseph in saying that. We all hold our belief system dear.
  Lionel, your tenacity has been invaluable throughout this debate. It must have been exhausting. While Joseph's objections are important, I personally think you should be commended equally.

  just discovered this thread by going to who's who.. i guess i'll add my life story.. born and raised a dub, i didn't really mind being a witness but always had a secret desire to celebrate christmas, birthdays and halloween.

  they always looked fun.. had a really fun time during the teen years, had some great friends and we did our share of partying, but never really got out of hand.

  i was, for the most part, pretty good.

  well, some have been picking on my boy w. bush.

  while i read on in disbelief at the reasoning (just rubbish) that bush is somehow now a crook because enron donated money to the republicans!!

  And right on.

  Society's perspective on the whole left and right spectrum is a collective illusion.

  And society gets yanked this way and that in that spectrum depending on who won the last election.

  If you spend any time watching C-Span, you will notice:

  1. The left and right are political enemies.
  2. Each side is convinced that it knows how to make society better.
  3. Each side is convinced the other enjoys undue sway.
  4. Each side blames the other for the political quagmire that apparently prevents society from dealing effectively with its problems.
  Its time to take the red pill! (The Matrix)

  We're Back! Finished Romans

  mrs ozzie and i are just back from a very stimulating week studying the complete bible book of romans at the feet of noted bible scholar paul barnett.. as many of you would appreciate, it was reading the book of romans that led many brooklynites to see the truth about 'the troof'.

  much interesting detail is given in ray franz's book crisis of conscience.

  in short, a thorough reading of the complete book, in context, would cause a thinking jw to start to question many of his previously held absolute truths.. we're a trifle tired, so maybe some tidbits later.
