I almost had to sneeze and scream Bullshit when I heard this. The brother giving the talk said that the Society has NEVER made a prediction about when the end would come. He said people just read what the Society published, and added their own thoughts to it!!! He specifically mentioned 1975, and said that the Society never even hinted that this could be the time of the end. What a complete bunch of LIES. Saidly, many true "Orwellians" will go alone with it, like it really happened that way. God, I hate these people!

ies that have happened to individuals on this board.
(what inspired me to write this subject was a bone chilling account .

Three of my childhood friends killed themselves. They were all "in the truth." I wonder what the odds are for losing three friends that all had the same religion?

THE END OF FALSE RELIGION IS NEAR!
JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES ADMIT THEY ARE A CULT!
AND A MEMBER OF THE UNITED NATIONS!
Why did we lie for so long?
What will the Society do now?
For the answers to the above questions and more,

Guns
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit incurious: does anyone carry a gun for protection?
from an ex jw standpoint, how easily did your feelings change toward guns and/or the possibility of killing someone in self-defense?.
my husband and i both carry.

Once you come to the realization that you will die, I see no reason to further the objective - for you or another person.
Again, to each his own. However, I would have a very hard time living with myself if I could have prevented my wife or child from being killed, and not had the tools to do it. As I have said before, I wonder how many of the people that were cowering under tables at the Luby's were praying that they had a gun to at least TRY to save their lives, or the lives of their loved ones. You know, harsh language only goes so far.

I will shoot and I won't shoot to wound.
Sage advice. Shooting to wound is only done in the movies, and by idiots.
I believe Jeff Cooper (God rest his soul) said something to the effect of "center of mass, shoot, repeat as necessary."

I believe American gun laws are moronic.
To each his own Nick. Most Americans think your gun (and knife/pointy object) laws are quite moronic.
Good to see you made it back alive from your Scuba doing.
BTW, I have also made my views on this subject quite well known on other threads, and will not rehash them here.

I have had a CCW and carried since 1996. (Butt down sholder holster.) It has always been a full sized .45, my favorite now being a Springfield Mil-Spec.

Were you told to give till it hurts? (Time, contributions etc)
by truthseeker ini remember hearing many times from the platform, and especially the assemblies, that we had to give our valuable things to jehovah till it hurt - and if it didn't hurt, we weren't struggling enough.. especially contributions - did we give till we hurt or did we give out of our surplus?
they love to use the example of the widow's mite to guilt us.. one co said that "some people only give jehovah 10 hours a month!
" - can you imagine that?

Perhaps with a note attached with a recommendation that the GB turn the funny money into the real thing, just like Christ turned the water into wine.
In my best Mr. Burns voice..."Exxcellllent."

JWs worried about the tract campaign?
by fullofdoubtnow ini got this from the reachout trust website.
this is what a jw poster said the other day about the new tract campaign:.
i was wondering when reading the new tract (kn37) after last nights meeting how this will go down on the doors.

I would think that the JW's are getting the polite "I'm not interested" less and less these days. I would think "get the F$#% off my porch" would be more common.
