How many here have been to Morning Worship at Bethel?
by BonaFide inin bethels throughout the world, morning worship starts at 7 am sharp.
in new york, there are closed-circuit televisions with a large digital clock display, including the seconds.
morning worship takes place in the big dining rooms so you are given breakfast after, everyone has an assigned seat.

An Average Apostate Day
by Farkel ini cannot understand why dubs are so terrified of apostates.
we all live mostly modest and normal lives, but dubs don't believe that.
so for all you lurking dubbies out there, i am going to tell what i think and do on .

Disconnect brings up a good point.
Sometimes a person doesn't have a choice about how one leaves, fades, DA's or whatever. I had elders breathing down my back wanting to know what I believed. Eventually they really wanted to DF me because I honestly told them how I felt. I quite frankly didn't have, and didn't want to have, something to hide. A secret that only I knew. That is, I really couldn't, in all honesty, support Jehovah's Witnesses any longer.
If they want to DF me for that, shame on them, and I told them so. I broke none of their silly rules or anything even close to that. I was a ex-pioneer, ex-bethelite, with a position in good standing. It's just that the organization turned into something it wasn't when I got baptized, namely, a group I could leave if I chose to with no consequences. A religion composed mostly of people who honestly thought the world was going to end in or around 1975.
Well, that was over 30 freakin' years ago!
I didn't sign up for the BS the society represents now, I told them that. I didn't want to leave on their terms, but on my own. I wasn't going to let them DF me and let people wonder (gossip about) if I was a secret smoker caught in the act again, or cheated on my wife, or loved little boys, or WHATEVER...so I quit.
It's alot like a job. You can just stop going to work and let your boss think you don't want to work there anymore. Or, you can buck-up and say... I quit! Gymbob

I DA'd myself years ago, and it was exactly what I felt was best for me. The title of this post is, "Pro's and Con's of DAing", and there are certainly many of both.
Since joining this board, I've learned alot, and if given the chance to do it all over again, I would probably do it differently....at least better. Maybe have a better chance to help some people I love start to think, or, take some a**hole elders down....whatever. But that's just life. Shoulda, woulda, coulda....
One thing I have learned since leaving the Borg is, if you don't like where you are at in life then change it. Don't blame the society, or some body of elders, Satan, etc., take the blame yourself. And when things go good in your life, be humble, but take the credit. It was your decisions that got you there. Gymbob

What is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you at a meeting?

they both needed to go potty at the same time.

Funniest thing I ever saw at a meeting....
A visiting non-witness man who had a hearing problem needed to plug some headphones into the sound system to hear the program. Unfortunately, when the sound system had a very loud feedback squeal about 15 minutes into the meeting, he stood up grabbing the headphones on his ears, and began screaming and cussing like a drunk sailor! :)
