Where do you enjoy most - Making Love???
by Celtic inwhere do you enjoy most - making love with one another, making that deep down, soul to soul shared connection?.
for me, if it were possible, it s/he would be out within nature, upon the woodland floor, with a few sleeping bags and cushions, amonst the leaf strewn woodland floor, at night with the moon overhead, owls calling, wow!!
the connection there i imagine would be pretty awesome, still never done it.. or on top of the cliffs, with the waves pounding below, sending ripples of vibration through the hillside above.. in stormy weather, on the beach, each place adding / sharing another shared perspective in our one soul love creating.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm if only.. peace, lots of it, kindness, joy and great friendships, music, wine and general jollity and boogeying it down.. love.

Scriptures JWs Would Prefer to Ignore
by Room 215 inhere are my nominations for scripture jws would like to see go away.
in all cases they're reduced to the ``yes, but'' defense; i.e.
john 14:2-- ``in my father's house are many mansions.".

Hi All,
i don't remember the scripture but I have a vague memory of one saying that people will be as angels or something and I remember the CO trying to explain something like we would be like angels and not have any kids in the "new system" or something.
Does anyone remember that and what exactly the stance is now?

MC,
Post brought back memories that I haven't had for a while. My father was a total bastard to us as well. I remember once coming home from a meeting and my sister was in the front seat. We had stopped and gotten some milk at the store that evening and it the carton leaked all over his crappy car. He took his fist and punched the side of her head really hard as if it was her fault.
That's only one of many pleasant memories but I try not to dwell on it too much.
My father was in the hospital last week with chest pains and they were running some tests on him. And although the hospital is right up the street from where I work I just couldn't bring myself to visit him. Had the number and couldn't bring myself to dial it.
Does this sound cold or is it just a case of you reap what you sow?
I smile now..I am an adult and I have a great life. I adore my son and I never feel the need to hit him or belittle him or go all fanatical on him over unmade beds or clothes on the floor. I have the power to change it all and I am trying!

Good posts!
Everything pertains to me on the board..assemblies, birthdays, holidays, the works.
I remember vividly when I was about six years old and I was sent to the library during my best friend at the time Jimmy's birthday. I watched from across the hall in the library where everyone was eating cupcakes and having a good time. I knew then and there that I would NEVER put my children through this, and even at that age it didn't feel right. Jimmy saved me a cupcake and put it in my desk for me. I ate it on the bus on the way home and my sister told on me. My mother didnt' really say anything....I think she knew having been raised a dub herself how painful it could be. Thing is, she's still there and I am now celebrating my 15th year of freedom.
I guess being in the library had its advantages....I turned into an avid reader and still love books. I think I have achieved a lot more than I probably would have since I have always felt like I had to prove myself.
It's so sad and I feel so sorry for all the children today.

What a manipulative talk!! People just like my grandmother will fall hook line and sinker for and further empty her coffers to this beastly organization.
They should be ENCOURAGING people to sock money away since Armegeddon never seems to arrive!
Arghhhhhh!! I am frustrated!!!

Ugh! Makes me want to gag after reading that.
Funny, I never felt that way growing up in the WT. I remember being sent to the library every time there was a birhtday or holiday party, wishing I could stay, being ostracized and constantly poked fun of because I couldn't salute the flag, go to dances, talk to who I wanted. The list is endless.
On the contrary, I remember laying in bed on Christmas Eve crying to myself, wishing I could just be "normal" for once. Never thought, Oh gee, how Pagan and I'm so glad I don't celebrate holidays. Can't wait to go to school today...wonder who's going to beat me up today?
I would never subject my child to any of that. I think most people would admit that Christmas is more of a time to get together and show love and appreciation for loved ones.

WT tooting their own horn
by TweetieBird injust got off the phone with my mom who asked me if i had read the latest awake on the sept. 11th tragedy.
quote, "what a wonderful article, showing what the brothers did for those that came across the bridge, blah, blah, blah.
my first thought was, anyone in ny with an ounce of compassion for humanity was right there along with anyone from the wts doing what they could for the victims.. my second thought went to how jesus condemned the scribes and pharisees for making a showy display of their good deeds, but inside they were vile.

I saw the article sitting rather conspicuously on my parents' and grandmother's tables...knew they would cash in on this tragedy eventually. I think they were hoping I would offer to read it but I just pretended I didn't see it. It was put by my dinner plate and I ignored that too, even putting my plate over it after I was finished. I seriously think they are afraid that Armegeddon is going to start in my own back garden since I am so not interested.
But what gets me is what they try with my son. They give him those horrid little tracts and he carries them around the house with the New World Translation Bible and a songbook looking as if he's ready to hop in the car and go to a meeting. Drives me mad!
