My JW mom's congregation made darn sure she could not come. She had just decided she would after all and gave her word and they swooped in... Life goes on.

I hate having JW parents.
by reneeisorym ini'll try to make this long story short.. in october ... about 3 days before i left for a trip my mother decided to have my cell phone cut off.
i've had my bill in my mom's name since i was 16 and have always paid it since i was old enough to work.
but .. out of pure spite, she cut off my phone.

I went to a real Christian church and actually prayed to a God who was not beating me over the head every two seconds.

I have an IDEA....an "Apostate smokeout"
by megsmomma inok....maybe this is stupid, but i was thinking of all of us setting up a day to go to the meeting and all that are here and hiding, or just lurk here could participate and we could set up an underground support system.
it would just entail a simple gesture at the meeting....like holding a tissue, or some toilet paper.
(like you had a runny nose) if there are elder lurkers and they tried to "catch" someone doing this...what could they say.."why are you holding a tissue????????

Don't think I could actually sit through another meeting....

PROOF THIS JW Religion COULD BE THE TRUE RELIGION
by Dark_Princess inwell in the bible it says said by jesus christ himself... that "the true religion will be the relgion everyone despises and hates.".
is this not the relgion of jehovahs witnesses?..
look in the bible itself it says in john 15:18-19. jesus says, "if the world hates you, you know it has hated me before it has hated you.

The first proof offered by the JWs is that they are not taught to hate people from other countries. John 15:13 says that the greatest love a person could have for another is to surrend his soul on behalf of his friend. They claim that they have shown love by exposing such things as the atrocities of Hitler (8/22/95 Awake). However, if one reads the actual declaration made by the Witnesses sent to Hitler (1934 Yearbook) they state "the greatest and most oppresive empire on earth is the Anglo-American empire." So, there went the neutrality topic.
The next is that they proclaim God's name. Many other religions use God's name. Check out a song that I have heard in several churches. Then, that they do not celebrate pagan holidays. Again, they don't have a monopoly on this one either. OK, they must preach about God's kingdom. Well, lots of religions preach in various ways about God's Kingdom, so no monopoly there.
There is one test of whether a PERSON (not a group) is in a true religion - 2 Corinthians 13:5 - it has to be done individually but knowing that we have accepted Jesus - and only YOU can know that for YOURSELF.

JW Wedding - Saturday
by Zico ini'm going to a jw wedding on saturday.
the groom is 20, and the bride is 22. .
a bit young this, don't you think?

Typical of JW Weddings - they have no clue on how to live independently. I think they get married because they are horny with no clue about anything else in life. You know, like paying rent... Kids with no education, told to live on part time jobs and pioneer.... Barely any of them last, and if they do, they seem to be miserable....

One year of attending the church of shame. Then, one month of attending the church of love AND the church of shame before choosing the God of Love.

My story (very long)
by reneeisorym inwe all went to the same kingdom hall.
another thing that bothered me was the lack of love.
i was bothered that the arguments and logic of the society commonly made little sense.

It would be a donation. I found out what they were doing with Katrina and that was just plain WRONG!
Anybody see the Awake article that was soundly condemning some Christian church for selling loaves of bread that were donated? Well, I don't see the difference here. We all donated our money and time and vacation to help and the Society took all the insurance monies on top of all the donations. They truly did make a Killing - in more ways than one.
Congrats on finding Christ. Isn't it wonderful?

An elder brought me along on a return visit to this lady and her husband, as his wife was not out in service. They brought out Kingdom of the Cults and started trying to talk with the elder. He was so rude to them, in their own home, that I wanted to fall through the couch. I spent the entire visit trying to make up for his lack of manners and rudeness. In the end, they gave me a tract invitation to their church, which I tucked into my Bible and thought no more about for 2 years.
After I was df'd and then told that I could not be accepted back, after trying for a year, because my former husband was still in good standing, so it would look inappropriate to reinstate me, this tract fell out of my Bible. What a coincidence!!! I went to their church one morning, mostly because I wanted to apologize to the lady for the rude behaviour. It was so wonderful that I kept going to their church before the KH on Sunday mornings and eventually caught myself saying "I've been to the church of love, now I have to go to the church of condemnation."
I have now become a Christian and am happily married to a minister. God has blessed me greatly!
