i am new, maybe this has been discussed, however, if i am not mistaken, witnesses are allowed now to accept blood fragments.

if it is, those fragments have to come from donated blood.

are witnesses allowed to donate blood?

The latest (which is not very latest) word on donating blood:

WT 61 - 1/15 - If, however, he refuses to acknowledge his nonconformity to the required Christian standard and makes the matter an issue in the Christian congregation and endeavors to influence others therein to his support; or, if in the future he persists in accepting blood transfusions or in donating blood toward the carrying out of this medical practice upon others, he shows that he has really not repented, but is deliberately opposed to God’s requirements.

i'd like to ask you all whether or not you think that we are being petty here.

the house next door to us has been empty for a while now.

the last person to use it was a chinese doctor who used to house illegal immigrants which looked after his little cannabis factory.

Stand your ground now, or you will be forever at odds with them. My ex was Romanian - they can be very civilized and nice, or they can be jerks, just like Americans. (He is the jerk variey, but his Romanians friends could be nice.) My old apartment - the Russians kept stealing my paid-for parking spot so I had to park way out on the street and hike in. I tried to be nice and they pretended no English. I had them towed a few times and they had the nerve to yell at me. Nails behind their tires worked well....... Just treat them as you would any American.... Tell 'em you will call the police (Securitat) if they do not return your recycle bin by tonight.

My mom - nothing special. I think she just has the good sense to know that she has a relationship with God (from being in Christianity before) and that carries forward to "anointed" in the JW books. My ex-husband, he wants the prestige and position that goes with it.... (and has mental health issues).

JW's and Domestic Violence

it has been a long time since i left the jw organization.

it seems that families may be more fractured now than back then (1979).. recently i was reviewing some materials about domestic violence.

some of the traits of the abuser are traits also exhibited by the watchtower authorities -- specifically, never admitting a mistake, blaming the victim for her/his own abuse, limiting the victim's association with others, particularly family members or supportive resources.. it follows that jw males in particular are almost programmed to become abusive.

I absolutely concur. I don't think I could say it any better than you did though. It is said that young girls who grow up in a controlling or abusive household tend to marry and stay in abusive relationships. The WT Society is highly controlling and uses fear / shame to keep its members, which is abusive. Therefore, this is what women come to expect and accept.

Back in Washington after 8 18 hour days...

as many of you know, we relocated to washington state.

i was in the middle of remodeling our house when we left, so i flew back 10 days ago to finish.

8 days 18 hours a day to get 98% done.

Can someone answer this for me re Anti D

i have just been reading minimus thread about jws tight to practice their religion and there was a lot of talk about blood transfusions.. so something i could never fully understand is the anti d immunoglobulin injection which is given to rh negative mothers during and after pregnancy.

i am rh neg and i received this after each pregnancy and was led to believe it was a conscience matter, and yet it is made from blood collected by human blood donors............was i wrong to have it (to clarify i was a jw at the time)............was it a matter of conscience....and if so what is the difference between that and a blood transfusion, if they both come from other humans blood.. fi.

You were fine in taking in, in God's eyes. In the WT eyes, who knows? Who cares? Russell was the only one who made any sense on the blood issue. Read 04/1906 WT....

i gotta' admit, i gotta' lil redneck in me.

as life gets shorter by the minute, i'm finding all kinda' neat things out about it before it's unfortunately time to go to the check out line.
