Why don't JW's have their own school for young people?

this is something that i have been asked several times and have wondered myself.

it would alleviate all of the uncomfortable situations involved with flag saluting, birthday parties, etc...

well, i was a pioneer at the time....mid -90's. a sister in my hall had a daughter....she was 9 at the time. i was so surprised to see the daughter get picked up from school early...like 1:30pm. the grandmother said "oh she goes to the witness school". i heard that before in conversations of kids going to the "witness school". when i first heard of it...i asked a few questions like "can worldly people attend?" "where is it?" and other questions...but i honestly dont remember the answers. i think the school was around the long beach area of so. cal. and i think they did homework and studying out of witness literature.

i would love to take a trip like that.

my circumstances don't allow me to, but i do wish you a great trip.

sometime, when i have time for a vacation, i want to take a motorcycle trip from coast to coast.

wow! that sounds so great! i would love to do that....and so would lots of others i am sure of it....but, obligations....and....i am pretty wimpy....though i can walk a good distance....my bike riding muscles are lacking.

here in southern california, there was a jw school. i knew the parents that sent their daughter to this school.

Does your pet do something funny?

my cat monty is a scavenger.

every night he brings an odd assortment of items to bed - this picture shows a little sock, two little mittens, a catnip sack, and two cords.

it also shows little lavender sneaking up on him to steal the black cord, which she loves.

These pet stories are wonderful.

UnConfused, is that a blue sandle in the doggie carriage? Does your doggie take it with him on rides? I think your dog is adorable.

One pet story: my nephew lived around a block and down a street from the elementary school. His dog would walk him to school. And when he got off school, the dog would be waiting for him to walk him back home.

Is There Something Specific That U Regret Not Doing Because You Were A JW?

did you want to belong to a social club but couldn't because it was "worldly" and witnesses don't get involved with the world?.

did you not go to college simply because witnesses say it's bad?.

did you deprive your kids of things because you were a "good jw"?.

yes. seriously buying any property, putting away for retirement and going to college. At 42 just going to college...i am 25 years behind.

Respect-O-Meter

we all have a little guage in us that measures the amount of respect we have for ourselves, our enviroment, each other, etc, etc, .

we can set a certain criteria and in some cases our level of respect can fluctuate with new information we take in that is either negative or positive........creating plus or minuses in our respect-o-meter.

we can not like something but still respect it.. loss of respect for a person, idea, business, ourselves can be devestating.

wow! everyone here has such great comments and insights. thinking about what i have read....we can only demonstrate as much respect for others as we have for ourselves....hhhmmmm. does that make sense? well, i guess i have to ponder this more. it is late 11 p.m. !
