I live on the east coast in PA. It has been raining off and on for about ?? 8 weeks. My brain is water logged and I need sun!! Is this going on elsewhere besides the east coast? My plants are turning yellow and my basement flooded last night. Please don't tell me to watch the weather channel..lol.

last night when i went to bed, my heart was quite heavy: there were things on it, in it, thereon... whatever... that i could not reconcile: i know what i have heard from my lord - how do i get others who love him to grasp that such a thing is possible, to understand that they do not have to take my word for it, but can ask him, for i am nothing more than a good-for-nothing-slave... and have "sold" myself into the "service" of the one who "bought" me... so that it is his will that i must obey... whether earthling man hears... or refrain?
this is not new "fight" with me, let me tell you: i know exactly how jeremiah felt, for i cannot count the times my heart has felt the same thing.

Why Hamas? What or who undrmined your beliefs? Did you ever understand the trinity concept to begin with? I rejected it out of ignorance at first because I wasn't taught it properly. Then when I studied what it really taught for myself along with the bible and asked for the guidance of the Holy Spirit....I could no longer deny it. I never thought that would happen. I don't see how one can get past it though if you believe the bible, anyway...that is the concern that i have for Aguest. She picks and chooses what to believe from it. love, dj

Hi E,
There are many here in your situation and a few Aussies post here as well. Welcome! Yo are not alone. My husband and I left the jw teachings together so I was spared that experience, thankfully. My sisters are both jw's while their husbands are not, and my brother is and his wife is not. I know that it is very hard on their children. I can only recommend that you do some research here and teach your children properly! The one advantage that you have is being the male in the family. You are the head of the house and that makes it a bit easier than if you were the wife. You do not have to allow your children to be taken to the KH. My brother in law doesn't allow it and he teaches his children about Christ and exposes the jw false teachings to them. It is the best way to handle it in my opinion. My other brother in law is not a Christian and his son has been influenced by the watchtower because his mom is the only one who teaches him about God.I feel like his dad is partly responsible because he doesn't care enough to refute their false teachings with truth from the bible. Just my opinion. love, dj

by onacruse ini was recently asked about my opinion re: hell.. as a born-and-raised jw i obviously never believed in hell-fire torment.
actually, i refuse to believe in such a thing.
for many years my favorite response to the idea was "i would rather burn in hell than worship a god who would create such a place.".

Doubting the Trinity and Paradise
by ClassAvenger ini don't doubt the trinity, but again i had a talk with one of my jw friends and he gave me several bible passages which he wants me to explain, most deal with the trinity, and others deal with the belief in heaven.
he says that they show that jesus was less than his father, and was a separate person, and the others state that paradise will be here on earth.
argument: how come no one has seen god, not even jesus?

Yes, my dad is a jw! That's why it was so important for him to grasp the "alone" words in Isa. and Job. He of course believes that Jehovah had a helper in the creation, Jesus...the master worker thing, you know!!

Thanks for all of those, and Hebrews1:10 is the one that I started with, but that's when my dad got that angry look. He knew what I was insinuating and it made him mad. If he wasn't so sick, I would have continued but I stopped because he looked very disturbed. I know how difficult it was for me to get out of the wt teachings and I have to admit that I don't feel so great about confusing my dad while he is dying. If it was not a brain disease that would be different too. This disease can cause him to get very confused at times and mood swings, etc. I will attempt it again, you can count on that but it is a very delicate situation and he may get extremely upset with me. I was shunned before he got sick. If this disease didn't affect his thoughts and emotions, I would be hammering him with his own bible for his own sake. Keep this in prayer, will you please? I am so happy about your parents!!! I shared the mediatorship teaching of the jw's with my mom before and she was shocked at first but...as usual she met with the elders and said that they told her He was her mediator just not in the strictest sense, blah, blah, blah..she said that she personally believes that Jesus is her mediator and that's that. She is either becoming 'apostate' or she is in a denial about what they teach.. She is 72 and has been under a lot of stress because of my dad's illness for the past 2 years. They need prayers!! I pray that your parents will fully be able to deprogram all of the lies and be filled with the Holy Spirit. love, dj

You are very welcome. I only cut and pasted though. The trinity is the toughest thing to get through to a jw. They are convinced of it's evilness, that is their main thing! The list that I gave you is nowhere near complete but it should be enough to help you stand firm. Their minds have been so twisted that you will get frustrated until you feel like you are gonna collapse from their circular talk. Hang tight and anytime you have a question I hope that you will come here for support and pray A LOT!! love, dj

That blows my mind. Why does the law allow criminal acts to be confidential? I can understand other matters being under the ecclesiastical (sp?) priveledge but criminal acts should be reported to the proper authorities imo.

I have two sisters who are jw's. Prior to being baptized about 8 years ago, they both had visions. One sister claims to have visited Macedonia where she learned that the jws are right, etc.. The other sister had an experience where she thought that she was being spoken to by our Lord and she felt that she was gifted in healing and teaching, etc...after some months of this,her voice told her to kill her child and sent her to a charismatic church down the road. I don't have all of the details but she became a jw too. My mother became involved with my sisters and had an experience of her own and was baptized with them. My dad saw some of these things going on with them although he didn't personally have it happen to him and he was baptized as a jw too. They are all fully convinced that Jehovah saved them from their ordeal and led them to be jw's.The sister who "has been to Macedonia" still holds to her visions and it keeps her firmly planted in the jw religion. This is why I am concerned for you because the angels of light can be so persuasive in their deceit. It is hard for me to accept that you cannot test these utterances with the bible because if the spirit told you that the bible is wrong then you are wide open for all kinds of teachings. love, dj
