i read this quote in a wt publication, but now i can't find it.

it basically said that in order to be a jw you must agree with all of what the society teaches.

you cannot disagree with any of it.

Fine work guys. Covington basically said, 'yup, we fire the whistle blowers...we hate the ones who stand up for truth. Jesus - was he just an exceptional teacher?

i have been doing a lot of soul-searching lately.. i have never considered questioning the bible before.

as a child, i was taught that to question the bible was blasphemous.

but lately, since coming to this forum and reading all the various posts and links to other sites, i have started thinking really seriously about things.

Welcome Makaveli......Josephus wrote about early Christians thay he observed ie: gathering at sunrise on Sundays mornings for worship to remember the resurrection of Christ. etc... Since he was not a Christian, he had no advantage to gain by making it up. This atleast proves that in the first century people were worshipping Christ. It is considered historical fact just the same as many historical facts are gathered through the writings of either eye-witnesses or an aquaintance of an eye-witness. If one chooses not to believe Josephus' writings then they should use that same measuring device for all historical evidence. Of course you can always choose to believe the writings but conclude that all of those people that Josephus wrote about were all delusional over a made up person that never even existed.

Does anyone know where I get get a Kingdom Interlinear? I've asked my mom several times in the past two years but....?? I haven't seen on on e-bay either. I would love to expose their false translations to my family one day.

How on earth did they ever gain converts when they used bibles other than their own nwt? How could they get past teaching that Christ was created and "a god", when they were using translations without their spin? How did they justify what they say Colossians says, if they didn't have [other] inserted four times? And on and on those questions could go......

Also, I had a green bible that was different in many places than the newer one that they came out with later. In the green one it had Jesus giving up His" breath" just before He died....in the newer one they decided it would be nicer to translate it correctly as, spirit. There were other changes as well. I never understood how they can even call their nwt a translation....because in the Hebrew in Genesis, they have God "ACTIVE FORCE" was moving across the waters.....instead of what is actually says in Hebrew...."HOLY SPIRIT"> Man, talk about changing this to suit your own teachings... The nwt translation is a disgraceful translation full of deceit.

There is plenty of evidence that Jesus existed sixonine.......just as much as there is for most historical occurances in that time frame if not more. There are even writings about Him from the first century from those who did NOT even believe in Him, such as Josephus.

As far as was He justa good teacher? That is incorrect because if you believe the bible at all, then you have to be aware that it teaches that He is the creator. Moses doesn't have that claim, neither did Elijah or anyone else but God. Read Hebrews 1:10 and John 1:1-15 as well as Colossians....Nothing was made without HIm, nothing. The Father Himself says of His Son that He laid the very foundation of heaven and earth with His own hands. That is a claim in the OT of YHWH and that He did it alone, by Himself. Isa. 44, Claearly if you accept the bible in any way, you ought o accept all of it. We cannot pick and choose from it. Jesus is the creator, it says so many places in the scriptures. He raised His body....remember when He spoke of raising the temple in 3 days? It says that He was speaking about HIs body and He said that He would raise it up. He is God.

Advice needed on headache and muscle pain relief

this week starting last saturday, i have been having a severe migraine or tension headache.

i have tmj and fibromyalgia,,,,,,i have been treated for all of these things.

right now , nothing is working, i mean nothing.

I get chronic headaches and stiff aching tight muscles in my neck and body too. I have had a couple of migraines and my fair share of cluster headaches. I take Motrin (Ibruprofin). It works and NOTHING else does but I also have to see a chiropractor in order to extend the relief. The muscles in my neck get so tense that they knock my neck out of joint and my jaw hurts up to my eye and head...grrrr. I have had this problem since I was a teenager and the best advice I can give you is motrin and a chiropractor. Fibromyalgia runs in my family and for all I know, that is probably what I have too. Calcium helps my sisters because it is a natural muscle relaxant. I can't seem to remember to take mine. Beware of prescription muscle relaxants.....they make most people very "mean" the next day. You can see your dentist about a mouth guard to sleep with, so you won't clench your teeth at night if you do... It has gotten much better for me over the years. Stress is a killer. Make a mental note about red wine or other things that may bring on a headache for you. Also keep watch for a connection between the headaches and your monthly cycle. I tend to get them in a pattern. Mizpah.....Hi! Thanks for the advice. I do heed it. I agree with you.

Bebu....HI! The one thing about these churches is that they oppose (not condemn) the idea of "denominations" within Christianity. They prefer that they would focus on what unites them (Christ) and let the small things not become things that divide. I agree with that and I also noted that Paul spoke about some people having slightly different convictions than others but they didn't divide over it, instead they were admonished to be conscious not to stumble a brother. In these churches, they are simply called "Christians" no other name is needed imo. The people I have met are walking the walk not just talking the talk which is very important to me. I know that there is no perfect church...lol...I left that mentality a while back after many bitter dissapointments. I have seen evidence of much fruit bearing in love and I guess that is what impressed me the most. They are not trying to earn anything yet they are walking in love because they have been changed from the inside. I have been changed too, and am so thrilled to find others who are like me in Christ.

I haven't been around in a while, so a big Hello to all..... I just wanted to drop this link here because I know that some here are confused as I was about all of the different denominations. I have found a church that is biblical in all ways and extremely loving, non judgmental and very different. They have worship music that is spirit filled and much love is obvious. Just dedicated in Christ and uplifting people. I have checked them out with a fine tooth comb because of being so misled before. I am posting this not for those of you who are not looking for a church but for those who are and could use a helping hand from someone who has searched for 7 years since leaving the wt nightmare. Just click on the link and find your state to see where one is located near you. They are all over the USA and in other parts of the world as well.
