New World Translation Errors

a jw friend of mine is trying to prove that i have a wrong, twisted bible full of errors and added scriptures.

Has anyone checked out Philipians 2:6 as far as I can remember the NWT has seizure instead of robbery or grasped, etc..which is ok but why do they have the word "namely" It's there just to add to confusion imo. It isn't in the Greek, obviously. I have to ask myself then why? The only thing I can come up with is that the NWT is purposely written in such a way as to cause confusion in the mind of the reader. It is like that from beginning to end. The word choices are deliberate to obscure truths, imo. I take Phil. 2:5-11 to be very revealing. To me, it clearly states that Jesus was equal to God but He didn't consider it robbery or something to be easily grasped or seized. In the NWT I read that over and over and because of their word choices..I never knew what it meant. Anyone else?

last night when i went to bed, my heart was quite heavy: there were things on it, in it, thereon... whatever... that i could not reconcile: i know what i have heard from my lord - how do i get others who love him to grasp that such a thing is possible, to understand that they do not have to take my word for it, but can ask him, for i am nothing more than a good-for-nothing-slave... and have "sold" myself into the "service" of the one who "bought" me... so that it is his will that i must obey... whether earthling man hears... or refrain?
this is not new "fight" with me, let me tell you: i know exactly how jeremiah felt, for i cannot count the times my heart has felt the same thing.

So true, that's the grass is always greener mentality. I am blonde and blue eyed and I tan BUT I have curly hair and have always wanted straight... and women who have straight tell me that they want my curls. All I can say is, NOT! It seems we are never happy. hehehe about your English weather.

Basically that is the wt arguement. Phillipians teaches that Jesus Humbled Himself and took the form of a servant. He became flesh and in doing so he became like us. He was still the Word of God but in the humbled state of the flesh. The Word of God is not to be taken lightly at all. The bible teaches in the OT and the NT that the heavens and earth were created by the Word of God. "Let there be light", etc...He spoke and it came to be! love, dj

by onacruse ini was recently asked about my opinion re: hell.. as a born-and-raised jw i obviously never believed in hell-fire torment.
actually, i refuse to believe in such a thing.
for many years my favorite response to the idea was "i would rather burn in hell than worship a god who would create such a place.".
