True some of it is repetitive, but then again if the same old topics didn't get repeated now and then, new lurkers or faders etc wouldn't get too see about the scandals, false doctrines etc and would miss out on a lot of good postsand information.

not sure what to do about this...
by dobbie inso sis in law father has been on dialysis for yrs and is elderly and hubby just got a text from his bro 'just so you don't put your foot in it ******'s father is stopping dialysis this wk and has 2 wks to live' (hes a jw too).
so i said to hubby he should reply and mention how sorry we are but he said why as they're treating me(dobs) like dirt and he doesn't see why he should.
but although they have cut me out now totally it seems i still think i should do something.

by Rethinking ini've decided to cut my ties with jws.. i don't post here much as i've stated before, but you all don't realize how much i appreciate this forum and the support it gives..

Well done Rethinking on a brave and wise decision! It won't be easy, there'll be good days and bad, but believe me i left last year and i'd do it again tomorrow. You'll be free to live your life exactly how you really want to without fear of being found out, spoken down to etc. And just remember we are always here to listen if you need to vent or talk, whatever.

have you heard about that Catholic priest?

you: the tragic thing is, the judge didn't send him to jail, but only gave him a community rehabilitation order.
and the church won't even take disciplinary action against him... he's still in a position to abuse more victims.. dub: end times... corrupt judges blabla .. false religion... whore of babylon yadda yadda.

JWDaughter i've heard them say that as well, but what they don't realise is that they hold themselves up to be the one 'true' religion and better moral codes than anyone else blah blah when they are no better than anyone else on the planet, of course they will always say 'its because we're jws' - its their whole stupid 'we're being persecuted' complex.
Anyway i think thats a great way of catching them out and maybe making them think by saying all that and then tellling them it was a jw lol!Makes me almost wish i wasn't d'ad just so i could try it out.

oh i missed that, haven't had time to read all 7 pages of posts yet will have to look when kids are in bed!I'm about half hour from Clevedon in Taunton, but i used to stay there a lot with my mum. She showed me the house which was the kingdom hall (just an old big house) and i did take my books once meaning to go on a sunday but chickened out thank goodness! Tbh i remember what we were all told when the panarama program was going to be shown, we were advised the two witness rule was a load of lies, not to watch the progtam, anyway we did with my hubbys family and i couldnt hear half of it cos they were tearing the victims who appeared on it apart, even bitching about their personal appearance and they must be liears looking like that! (nice family i married into - not!)

What a disgusting ****hole, i nearly went to that kingdom hall as well when my mum used to live in Clevedon. The thing is as well one of my then jw friends used to regularly go away and they woud leave their son and daughter with a single brother all weekend and i just used to think how dumb they were - i'm not saying he would do anything but you just never know do you, i'd never leave my kids with a bloke or anyone other than my hubby or mum.
The thing is i can't understand how he has got off so lightly?!He should have all his hands and privates cut off if you ask me.

Anti Witnessing, do you do it?
by bikerchic intoday i was at a laundry mat and saw several jw mags and tracts.
i threw them all away in the trash can!.
i also tell everyone i have an opportunity about being in a cult, the jw's and have had many interesting conversations.

Yes i do whenever possible now, i think its important to give people the 'other side of the story' of being a jw and how you are treated when you leave etc. I'm really proud to know that hubby and i are actually putting people of even talking to jws at the door, most people are disgusting and say they're not christian at all.

The parenting website i go on has a religion part and back along there were two jws posting rubbish on there (til we scared them off lol-apparently they had already had to leave another site because of 'persecution'!) and they categorically denied that there has ever been such a thing as theocratic warfare, you only get disfellowshipped for fornication only and that all je children are allowed to play with schoolfriends outside of school. What a bunch of fibbers and they had the nerve to tell people not to listen to the rest of us as were were lying apostates lol!
