What's your favorite part of the day and why?

When i wake up in the morning and see my little ones who look so beautiful when they are fast asleep, (and i can grab a few peaceful moments to lie in bed quietly!)

by mentalclearness inso last night i spoke with my boys (6 and 9 years of age) about why we believe things.
i completely plagiarized richard dawkins (ha!).
so i used as an illustration that people thought before that the earth was flat.

Its a great idea to prepare your kiddies, i found that out last year when i let him go to a jw social without hubby and he came back with things put in his head by his husbands mother (and he was only 4!) Although they no longer see him, he is still in a class with his jw cousin and 3 other jw kids and he sometimes comes out with things that they said, such as Jehovan will bring back all the dead animals etc but i do try to talk to him as honestly and clearly as i can on these occasions and i also say that just because his cousin says this or that , doesn't mean its true and that we all believe different things etc. I don't want any of that jw toxic waste lingering in his mind!

ATTN WT MONITORS!! Enforcement Action Needed NOW!!
by Open mind inthere is a disturbing trend in my area that desperately needs attention from headquarters.
congregations are getting together for picnics, parties, "fun nights", etc.
this shocking disregard for theocratic order reached a head recently when what should have been termed a "get together" was flagrantly referred to as "the congregation picnic"!!!

My hubby works on the railway and he was told he couldn't get involved in a strike but there was no way he was going to work either (my dad didn't join the strike at his factory once and he was ignored for ages afterwards), but luckily he always seemed to get the day off that the strikes were going to start on. (Bet the jws would say that was Gods work lol)

Yep its happening here too!When i got maried 13 yrs ago we were told no discos no barn dance etc and no alcohol, but nowadays they regularly have skittles matches at pubs, their own band that hires a hall and plays live music with the jws dancing (that is a funny sight though!) plus any excuse for a get together -thanks v much jws you could have done it a bit sooner and i could have had the barn dance i wanted then lol!

yoga/ vegetarianism are religions
by tula insome of the jw's i know think yoga is spiritism and can be df for practicing.
others say it is question of conscience.
what is general concenus here for your kh group?.

I used to be told Yoga was dangerous as it let your mind 'empty' and prone to demon possession (that said i did go a few times with workmates but stopped as i couldn't relax enough!)
But whenever they knew i was a vegetarian they were always positive about that (except for usual don't know what your'e missing comments - uh i do, that's why i don't eat it) - they used to reckon that people were veggies before Noah and that they could be again in the 'new system'. In fact there were a couple of very strict vegans in our congregation too.
Lol i'm staying out of your way then emy!!!

That's all really good advice, am off now to have my dinner and yes with thel little ones as well. I always think the most important thing as well is to listen to your child, i love walking to school and back with my lad as we can have a chat about all kinds of things, and every night at bedtime we always have what he calls 'one of our cosy chats', which is when he can ask me anything he has on his mind, and when i get to ask about his day and how it went etc.
