I've been advised not to give too much away on this board in case lurkers get stuff back to my wife.
Things haven't changed a lot. We live seperate lives, I'm relegated to an air-bed in the dining room.
We have made an appointment to see a marriage guidance councilor soon.

I have had an 'affair' for over five years now with a woman that lives in another country.
We can never meet. But she fulfils all my spiritual and emotional needs. I love her in the deepest sense of the word.
My wife knows I communicate with her but not that we are any more than friends.
She is my light, my warmth, my sound, my whole sense of being.
No religion has a truer or more noble advocate than this woman, a woman who has garnered my deepest respect and has stopped my atheist tendency in its tracks due to her sincere and deeply held convictions as a Christian.
I hurt her recently with my sheer thoughtlessness and it nearly killed me when I realised.

very strange thing happened yesterday.. my wife went to a meeting at the hall - on a saturday evening!.
apparently the leicester forest east had a special visit from a bigwig from london bethel.. the main talk was about jesus - his office and ministry.
why was a special visit necessary?

The main talk was about Jesus - his office and ministry. Why was a special visit necessary? Was it only our congregation that had the visit? Has anyone else had this talk?
It made me wonder if apostate talk about how the JWs neglect Jesus was spurring this on?
There was also some shite about phenominal growth in third world countries.

i want to ask a deep question here, only because i want to know your answer..... i was listening to my mum and dad tonight watching a programme on the discovery channel about how in so many million years the sun will implode or explode and destroy all life in our solar system and beyond.
my dad was fascinated and was arguing with my mum who said it's rubbish because that isn't jehovah's purpose for the earth.
later i was thinking.
Three possibilities
1. We will enhance and control our evolution eventually becoming immortal all-powerful gods.
2. We will destroy ourselves.
3. The Universe will destroy us.
I say we've got a one in three chance of making it to the next millenium intact.
just wondering if anyone is aware of a clamp down coming down on internet use with the dubs?
just talking to my parents tonight and there was some mention that "big brother" wt organization will be shutting down any dub web sites.
i guess i wasn't to popular as i said, "god created us with a brain to think amd it would be the most divine thing if we used that brain to think for ourself".
I don't think it is possible for them to ban Internet use. Lots of JWs rely on it for their businesses and kids have to use it at school, for example. The Internet has zillions of legitimate uses, it's not just porn and anti-JW stuff!
What they will do is continue to demonise it so that any information about the religion that comes from it is automatically treated as apostate lies.
I think JWs will be 'encouraged' to cut down their Internet use to just what is essential. Others on this board have suggested that the WBTS may introduce some sort of nanny software that JWs will be 'encouraged' to install on their personal PCs to 'protect' them from apostate sites.

i'm curious..... the society's policies on the issue of a person seperating from his or her mate is the following (so far as i know):.
the mate may "scripturally" seperate on the grounds of:.
1) extreme abuse.
What about spiritual endangerment of your children? That seems to be the tack my wife is taking at the minute. She's making it unbearable for me to stay, forcing me to leave even though I've done nothing wrong so I get the blame!

Though I wish it were under better circumstances; that sucks man.
i'm in a bit of a state at the moment, my wife has just left me about 30 mins ago and took the kids...i don't know where.... ok, some of you long-timers may remember the problems i had with my son ben, who decided that the jw religion wasn't for him about a year ago.
i supported him as best i could through that and he's developed into a fine young man with a more healthy spiritual attitude, investigationg a number of christian churches in the area and finally settled on church of england, which he really likes now.. although no longer a christian myself i have no objection to them pursuing whatever religious path they choose (obviously within reason).
that has been the case with all of my children: ben, 15, charlotte, 14 and chloe, 12. i have never attempted to stop my wife taking them to the meetings although i have voiced to them privately my concerns about the religion.
I'm afraid I daren't update anyone at present. I've been advised not to (and I think it's good advice) in case someone I know is lurking and tips my wife off about what's going through my mind.
All I can say at the minute is that things haven't changed much (I'm still on an airbed in the dining room) and in our last, er, conversation, my wife said that 'religion' was not an issue with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are also going to a RELATE counselor (marriage guidence) sometime next month- so will see what transpires there and let the board know then.
