how many of you have armed themselves?
by buffalosrfree ini recently bought a high powered rifle and am presently buying a pistol for back-up.
i have a cross bow, a compound bow, and several swords and knives, in fact i have been collecting knives for some time and have learned how to use them in defending myself and in taking the initiative in learning to defend myself.
i am quite versed in using both the croww bow and the compound bow, it seems the goverment doesn't want to defend us and just wants to unarm us.

"Bible Teach" book's discouragement of investigating other religions
by M.J. inafter leading the reader through most of the major jw doctrines, the watchtower society's introductory book, what does the bible really teach?, really starts laying out the reasoning that you have to be a jw to be approved by god in chapter 15. it is interesting how the first instruction given here is not to go investigating what other religions teach.
but, as the wts writers often do, they resort to circular reasoning and false analogy to support this:.

Your time would be better spent if you studied real money. After you knew what real money looked like, you could recognize a counterfeit.

For the record, that article clearly states that it was written in 1993 -- before the 1995 change was announced. It also doesn't seem to be an article you can link to without knowing the exact URL, which tells me that it's more of an archive than a current article.

If someone says they worship Satan
by free2beme indo you think they are doing this because they truly love the satan character and want to please him or do you think they do it for complete shock value.
to basically do something that makes what is defined as good in society (christian religion) angry that someone would do something so wrong.
personally, i do not think there is one satanist out their who truly thinks that they are worshiping a being that is real, or actually something that could benefit from their worship.

Darrell Ferguson, 28, the youngest person put to death in Ohio since 1962, died by injection at 10:21 a.m. at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility.
He had asked for the death penalty and chose not to pursue appeals, which could have delayed his execution for years.

I absolutely understand the distinction between Wicca and Satanism. I think that if someone worships "Satan" and understands Satan to be a really evil badass, they're asking for trouble. If you're talking horned god/fertility, you aren't talking evil/devil. I think that's the distinction -- what is the nature of that which you worship?
