I wonder how many JWs watched that and thought how incredibly stupid it was to quit a job for that reason? Is his faith so weak that missing a meeting or two would cause him to lose it? Why couldn't he just start looking for employment that wouldn't conflict with the meetings? Not to mention the fact that he would have to be dishonest to collect either welfare or unemployment in that situation. It's beyond ridiculous that they would present this loser as an example to others.

Did You Feel Bad For the JW Dishwasher-Cook Who Quit His Job (May JW Broadcasting)To Avoid Attending Later Meetings? He Pioneered on Welfare or Unemployment!
by RoyalFlushPhil indid you watch the story about the jw who was working as a burger boy at some diner and his boss wanted him to work on sunday during the time of his meeting?
this faithful jw decided he could not attend a later meeting (6 pm sunday meeting) and soon quit his job(or got fired to attend his sunday meeting) so he could attend the sunday meeting he was assigned to.
i think he was on welfare because this story states he won't work on sunday morning because that's when his meeting is!

"The organisation is imperfect, but it doesn't affect my relationship with Jehovah"
by Alive! ini've noted active, devoted jw's state the above.. and, it's not a problem for me to remain trusting of god, i just don't trust religions or men.. recently, a member of this forum stated that he remains an active jw, in the family of god's people, wanting to encourage and do good - whilst recognising that the pastoral leaders (the gb) have shipwrecked the faith of many, being unsound scripturally etc, etc.. stop and think about this - the bible says to not follow after those who lie and hurt the faith of "little ones".. the pharisees were accused of traversing over lands and expending much energy to make a single convert - only for that convert to end up worse of than he started off with.. it's one thing to not believe this is the 'truth' and feeling the awful pressure of managing ones life, trying not to lose ones family.. it's quite another thing to declare oneself to be a christian believer of god's jw household, and somehow believe the god of love would use corrupt liars to parade as jesus' brothers in the urgency of last days.
really?
and, to then visibly promote faith in corrupt men, and try to bring converts into a place where the rulership is wrong.. some of us are dying from hurt here.......give me a break..

then, what's the difference if the Governing Body does this or if former Jehovah's Witnesses do it?
The difference is we don't want your heart, your soul or your money.

Attention Lurkers- what the org is really doing
by stuckinamovement inthe message has changed dramatically from the good news of the kingdom and imitation of jesus to the following:.
1. keep your eye simple and try to find a low paying part time job so you can pioneer.
such jobs might be janitorial or house cleaning, yard care, etc.

7 hrs 35 min a week that has to be a joke. I know I wasted a lot of my life reading and trying to make sense of that trash, but never spent that long.
You are being manipulated. You might think you are getting away with something, but they know going in most won't meet such unrealistic expectations. It doesn't matter to them how much useless study you engage in or how many not at homes you knock at, as long as you don't question things or stop donating.
The goal is to keep you too busy to question things or too guilty to question things, either way they win.

They're Making it Impossible to Fade
by DarioKehl infor those of you who have already faded due to family still being in, have you noticed how the noose is tightening?.
if it's not memorial, it's special day assembly.
if it's not that, it's convention or the special talk.

I think a lot of it is in how you respond when questioned. If you don't feel guilty and refuse to give out any personal details, the elders will have a hard time getting to you. We all know JWs who get away with horrible conduct and never seem to get caught.
Not that it's your fault, they have had years to control you and even knowing the TTATT does not make the mind control go away over night. But the sooner you can get to the point where you know you owe nothing to these people, the sooner you can break free. It's a process, it takes some people longer than others.

Eighty-Four year old drives her disfellowshipped son to meetings and sits inside Kingdom Hall.
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini have a customer who's son is a jehovah's witness.
he was disfellowshipped over a year ago.
this is the second time he's been disfellowshipped.

I don't know what they are saying lately, but back in the day it was considered acceptable to give a disfellowshipped one a ride to the meeting. But forget kindness and mercy because most people won't due to fear of what people would think.
Why not share the ttatt with mom so she can free her son from this stupid religion?

Mays JW TV Broadcast/Your feedback is appreciated
by ToesUp ini have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.
i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.
i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

The only difference now between the GB and televangelists like Jim Bakker, Pat Robertson and the like is that they were at least somewhat entertaining while begging for money. People gave because they made it feel good to give. With the GB you are supposed to pony up and yet still feel guilty.
I think they have made a huge mistake in making these broadcasts. The emperor has no clothes and now everyone can see it.

My Last thoughts in Field Service Before the Elderly Man Shat Himself and Pissed his pants in My New Car!
by PokerPlayerPhil indebating this was going to be the last day in field service was not hard after dealing with a nasty mess because i was grouped with the misfits of the kingdom hall!
i was reading this website on my phone while something started to stink in my car and one of the weird kids nobody wanted to work with yelled "hey, you leaking all over my seat, he was freaked out too!
" the older, retired elder, his pioneer daughter had forgotten to put his depends on and that became my problem.

When I was a young married woman we lived in a poor area with a lot of older sisters with no car. They would go out in service then expect us to take them on errands, paying the gas bill, grocery store runs, etc. I didn't mind sometimes but they never asked, just assumed. I got tired of running a taxi service, especially if I had other plans.
One time no one showed up to unlock the hall and an older sister hadn't had time to draw her eyebrows on, so she asked me to do it for her while we were waiting. I had no idea how to do that and it gave me the creeps, ugh.

Stephen Lett admits income/expenditure shortfall as he reminds Witnesses to donate “valuable things”
by defender of truth init's well worth taking a look at the article, it will only take you a few minutes.
but i would particularly like to highlight this part: .
if you are going to divulge a shortfall in funds, particularly with the aim of leveraging more donations (or valuable things) from a pool of supporters who are already lagging in this regard, the least you can do is treat them like adults and give some hard numbers.

When I was bamboozled into joining this religion they were very proud of the fact that they did not pass a plate for donations and did not ask for pledges, for "God loves a cheerful giver" They also denounced other churches for doing so. At least with churches there is some accountability, while who knows where the money goes with these clowns?
Shaking down the congregations for every available dollar, bait and switch with disaster relief, sleight of hand with convention funds, they are starting to make televangelists look like amateurs by comparison. I think people are catching on and voting with their pocketbook. It's a losing game, they more they attempt to squeeze out donations the more people get turned off and find other uses for their hard earned cash. The logical next step is to have "New light" on donations and start tracking who gives and who doesn't.

GB’s spring cleaning helps faders
by wheelwithinwheel inthe gbs 2015 doctrinal spring cleaning is a gift to all faders.
when we were fading they were grappling with the dying generation.
their ensuing explanations made our diminishing meeting attendance and service easily explainable.

The way you guys talk make it sound like life under communism. Big brother is watching you, anyone can become suspect, retribution is swift and terrible. I can't imagine what a toll it takes to live like that.
I faded while not realizing I was doing so. I was simply considered weak, a sister with a disfellowshipped husband, so I didn't much count anyway, I had been inactive for a few years, then I moved out of state.

Atheist Miracles

no, i do not hate atheists, i love them!
they keep me from getting bored.

What would you guys do if you didn't have Perry? He raises the typical weak arguments of the average believer and sets you up to look like geniuses by comparison. Are you sure he isn't othe alter ego of one of you?
