The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me
by dubstepped indue to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.
just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.
the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

Wow, very well put, a perfect summation of the life of a JW, one rejection after another. It may not seem like it, but it does get better. You can't change the past, nor wipe away the hurt, your parents will probably never love you unconditionally, but you can love yourself and stop the negative thoughts. I highly recommend meditation for dealing with negative self talk and replacing it with positive. You are already doing it to a certain extent, or you wouldn't have been able to write what you did, so just keep at it, it takes time to undo years of indoctrination. -

i'm stupid, right?

I don't think you are stupid, not at all. The problem is your low self esteem. Until you believe, deep in your soul, that you are worthy of being loved by a decent guy, you will continue to get what you are getting.
I know this because I was you. Because of that and the Watchtowers draconian divorce rules, it took me 28 years to learn this lesson. I got the promises, the temporary reform followed by business as usual. Trust me, he won't change. I am happily married now to a guy that respects me, treats me well and doesn't need his ego gratified by dominating a woman. It should only have taken me 27 years and eleven months to learn this lesson, but it is what it is. Don't be like me.
Once you get yourself straightened out (I suggest counseling), your loser guy will disappear, as he will see that you won't put up with his $hit. He is very insecure, he will not want to be with a strong woman who knows what she's worth.

“I read a lot about Jehovah’s Witnesses on the Internet,” says Cecilie, quoted earlier. “I heard some rumors, and I listened to a great deal of prejudiced talk. As a result, I formed a very negative view of Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
I guess they are trying to prevent people from doing onto the internet and checking out things that are critical to them, but if I was not familiar with Jehovah's Witnesses it would just make me curious as to what they are trying to hide. They can't scare the public by calling us "mentally diseased apostates", that would just make them sound as looney at are. The narative that all former Jehovah's Witnesses are angry, bitter people who just want to tear down the faith of others only worlks with their own indoctrinated members. They are fighting a losing battle here.

Now Even JW Men Are Going To Die At The Big A
by OneFingerSalute inso this weekend there was a part about not following jesus at a distance.
the speaker made a big point of stating that any baptized jw male who was not either appointed ms/elder, or at the very least "reaching out" actively, was in fact following jesus at a distance.
he said that the only way to live through the big a was to follow jesus closely.

This is the kind of thing that drive me out of the religion, you were never, ever, good enough. I used to think that it was just me, but I think they want everyone to feel guilty, because guilty people are easier to manipulate.
Of course the bible says that it is belief in Christ that brings salvation, but they can't teach that because then you wouldn't need them to tell you what to think, do and say and to set impossible to reach requirements.

Gordon Lightfoot
by RAYZORBLADE inok, if you're a canuck, chances you know that gordon lightfoot is about right up there with ol' jehover!.
but if not, nevermind, but i have to admit, i have been a lifelong fan of: gordon lightfoot.. this evening, i took his 'greatest hits' and gave it a listen, and as expected, i was still enthralled with his lyrical genius, and playing abilities.. anyone a gordon lightfoot fan?.
just curious.. all your folks living along north america's "great lakes" keep in mind, next month is the 28th anniversary of the sinking of the "edmund fitzgerald".. that song, by gordon lightfoot is haunting from beginning to end (over 6 minutes).. i personally love: go-go girl in love, bitter green, canadian railway trilogy, sundown, race among the ruins, wreck of the edmund fitzgerald, and well i like just about every damn thing he ever did.. your contributions?

I love his music, my husband is a huge fan also. Whenever we see singer guitarists playing that kind of music my husband will ask them to play the Edmund Fitzgerald, but they usually can't because it's too hard. -

Do you consider this site Godly or Ungodly
by Truthexplorer inover the years, i have seen a change in heart with the country i grew up in and the general view of what they perceive as how everyone should view things in relation to morality.
a strictly religious country for centuries now forever changed within a short number of years.
i have also seen the viewpoint on this site gradually change in many ways.

I appreciate that you took the time to post here. It seems you don't want to hear what we had to say, but for the lurkers here who feel the same I will try to address some of your points.
strictly religious country for centuries now forever changed within a short number of years.
Yes, there have been changes. Rape and domestic violence are now treated as a crime, not a right. Women have access to birth control and can choose when to have children. Divorce is now an option, people do not need to be trapped in bad marriages. Racial discrimination is no longer legal.
those who even suggest that God has Got things wrong, that his son Jesus would not have such a opinion,, that the bible is nonsense etc. oh come on...think about it!
I don't think God has gotten things wrong, I am just not convinced he exists. Trust me I have this a great deal of thought, it was not a decision I took lightly. I wanted there to be a God, I really did, but the evidence just wasn't there. I cannot believe in the God of the bible anymore than I can believe in Krishna.
I now feel this ever since a certain event took place that absolutely confirmed everything I need to know that this world is now completely gone mad.
Please, do tell what event has convinced you the world has gone mad? While there is a lot of bad things that have happened I also see reason to hope. People have been predicting the world would end for centuries. I guess they are bound to be right some day, but I'm not betting on it this time.
There is no balance anymore. It is now from one extreme or the other. complete liberalism or inhumane extreme intolerance
Intolerance is out there, just as extreme liberalism is out there. The reality is the majority of people are somewhere in the middle, so the odds are the laws and the world will stay somewhere in the middle. You may not like where that middle is, but you might want to consider that it is you that is on the wrong side on a few things, not others. just a thought
A lotl of people seem to be getting their undies in a bunch because gay people can now be married. I have a hard time understanding how someone else's right to marry the person they love hurts or affects me in any way. You have the right to practice your religion, but not the right to force others to adhere to your religion. That seems fair to me.
There lies the hope and the inner peace you will truly find.
You are making an assumption that I don't have inner peace, when the reality is I am a very happy and peaceful person. Realizing that the Jehovah's Witnesses were not God's channel of communications was the best thing to ever happened to me. Realizing that God doesn't exist freed me from a lifetime of guilt. Don't be mistaken, I am still a moral person, I just don't need religion to tell me that I am a horrible, sinful person who needs to be saved. It turns out I wasn't lost to begin with.

Have you had Dreams Lately ? Do you get Meanings from your Dreams?
by flipper inbeing very interested in psychology i read a book as a teenager and re-read it last year called " gestalt therapy verbatim " by frederick perls m.d.
ph, d. .
it deals with dreamwork therapy in which he conducted seminars helping people to re-connect with subconscious parts of themselves by recounting their dreams .

We all dream every night, it's just that you forget them unless you wake up within a few minutes of the dream. If you meditate you will go through a phase where your dreams are much more vivid and you remember them better. It goes away after a while, but if you stop meditating and then go back to it it happens again. It's really great while it lasts, some are almost like a movie, with a plot and various characters.

This is just horrible, disgusting behavior, it's like these people have no moral compass or true sense of right or wrong. They are letting those clowns in New York keep them from showing basic human kindness and compassion. I think if I was going to be treated like that I would just skip the whole thing all together.
