  back story, i left the jws 13 years ago, just walked away, moved to another state, and married a guy i had gone to high school with 28 years previously.

  at first i was just happy to be away from the dubs and the thought of any organized religion just made me sick, and as most of you know, the dubs do a good job of tearing down other religions, so my thinking was still influenced by the wtbts in some areas.

  i considered myself agnostic for a long time.. i occasionally visited my husband's parents church when we were visiting.

  I challenged a Dub out in service

  i was sitting in my car, finishing an egg mcmuffin before going to the grocery store when i noticed a dubbie going around talking to people in the parking lot.

  i thought the chances were good she would approach me, and i decided i was going to do more than decline to take the pamphlet.. after i verified she was a jw, i said that i was a former member.

  i must confess, regretsy is my "guilty pleasure".

  it's a website that picks the most oddball items on etsy and makes fun of them.

  for those not aquainted, etsy is a website for selling handmade items.

  I got braces on my teeth today.

  at the advanced age of 53, i got braces on my teeth.

  the bummer is, my teeth are not even crooked.

  i still have two baby teeth (my eye teeth) and the permanent ones are still up there.

  Dreaming of a White Christmas - And how!

  i was wishing for a white christmas - here in the front range of colorado, it's not unusual, but we are lucky to get a few inches.

  be carefull what you wish for.

  we survived the "blizzard of 06" but snowed in, probably for a few days.

  The Truth Book

  i just finished reading "the truth book", escaping a childhood of abuse among jehovah's witnesses, by joy castro.

  it's very well written.

  it's about a young girl who lived hell on earth (her jw stepfather, beat starved and molested her).
