Why do some people answer your question with another question?
by booker-t inthis burns me to no end when people do this.
i feel the whole world is getting like this day by day.
people can't just say yes or no or a direct answer anymore it always has to be with a question, or going in circles without ever answering the original question, or down right evading the question.

Why do you post?
by avidbiblereader ini am not talking about questions or inquirying about what to do with a problem.. when you post what are some of the reasons you give your thoughts on matters?.
for me, i enjoy talking to others who can understand my experience but more importantly for me, i know there are lurkers or people right on the fringes who are sick of all of it.
i try to give a biblical explanation on matters that shows the error of going beyond the things written.

Because they don't let me answer at watchtower anymore!!!!!
Mostly I post cause I think it's a mutual exchange, if I don't give to the community it's not very respectful of the community that has given to me. I have had people extend the simple kindness of giving there insight on matters that have concerned me so I should do the same. Sometimes the simplest comments have helped me so I reason that even if I don't have any great wisdom, a reply of any sort by me lets the poster know that there is someone out there listening that cares. We are all here supporting each other in some way or another and posting is one way we do it.

Kindness Toward Trolls
by compound complex indear givers of the benefit of the doubt,.
i recall that in discussing "love believes all things," the aid book stated that we should give our "brother" the benefit of the doubt until we have good reason to no longer do so.
that's the gist of it.

I thought a true troll was here simply to aggravate and annoy us not simply a jw supporter. Like franze666 for example.

Personal Truths
by searching4truth ini have been doing alot of soul searching lately.
having been raised as a dub and my entire world focused on that existence i seem to be a bit lost as to who i am.
everything my life was based on was a lie, so that being the case i find myself having to toss all my former philosophies aside and start from scratch.

I have been doing alot of soul searching lately. Having been raised as a dub and my entire world focused on that existence I seem to be a bit lost as to who I am. Everything my life was based on was a lie, so that being the case I find myself having to toss all my former philosophies aside and start from scratch. Admittedly this hasn't been easy, as a matter of fact it's been hell. My entire system of values has had to have been reconsidered and the verdict is still out on most things. I am having to find where I stand on all sorts of "personal truths" such as god, ethics, relationships, life, sex, politics, freedom, etc....... the list goes on and on. Most of us on here have some similarities in our past even though we come from different backgrounds. I have e-mailed a couple of people recently who expressed having similar experiences upon their exodus for the "truth". So I was wondering with all of you guys having different levels of experience, maturity, years since you left, etc.. what "personal truths" or conclusions have you all reached on anything or everything?

Dog Owners: Is your pet a Killer?
by restrangled inone of my dobermans today, dragged a tarp off a pile of wood we had covered.
sure enough there was a large pink nose sticking out of the pile.
he went in and dragged out an oppossum which must have weighed fifteen pounds.

Are you vindictive?
by free2beme inonce you left the witnesses, did you want some sort of revenge?
when you left relationships in your past, did you do something to harm the other person with words or actions?
when you left jobs, did you bad mouth your employer with a hope of harming him/her financially?
-
searching4truth
I am not generally vindictive. The only time I see it necessary to retaliate in any instance is when it will prevent further harm to myself or others.
