**Now, now, KW. I knew some brothers who gave a little sermon every time they answered**
On the subject of brothers loving to hear themselves ramble, what about their prayers at the end that go on and on and on...Especially the one at the end of the last day of the ASSembly. My sis and I clocked one at 9 min once.

Kingdom Hall Duties
by KW13 ini remember even though i was young, i was 'mature' and i got the priv.
of doing microphones on certain occasions, helped the brother doing carpark e.t.c.
i used to hate mic's at our hall, they had cable attached so you were always tripping over this huge cable, or a sister would have it in her hand, then pull it, so you'd end up with this thing around your legs, basically attaching you to her.

Worst Thing Youve Done In A Meeting?
by chuckie77 inwhats the worst thing youve done during a meeting?
years ago, when i was a bit more wicked/naughty/younger than i am now, i thought i would take some drugs just prior to the meeting to see if it would make things any more interesting.
it didnt, but at least i enjoyed the kingdom melodies tapping my foot to the beat and bopping my head!!

My sister, some friends and I got into the left over memorial wine and took a few good slugs behind the lit. counter...
besides that, I actually believed everything said on stage. -

(((Annie))),
Thank you for sharing your story. I can't believe the way they treated your family...oh, wait actually I can. It never ceased to amaze me how many witnesses were so critical and condemning. It all was such a big show of who had what and what can you do for us. The families in our hall with one jw parent were treated very similar. It always made me so angry.
When my dad was sick with cancer, horribly depressed and stopped going to meetings for a while, the rest of us got dirty looks. Even when mom faltered for a while too, and just us kids walked over to the hall with me (the oldest) as the leader there was no one to ask how we were or if we needed anything. I was dying inside and so desperately trying to be this good responsible girl. no gave a sh*t. I had nothing to offer.
I am very happy that you are here. You and your mama deserve so much better.
Hugs.

Welcome JC
Many people on this site have been through the same experiences, realizing they have been living a lie and losing precious people over it. You have definitely made the right move and have come to the right place.
I have found more encouragement and loving heartfelt advice here than in all my sad years in the org.
How wonderful for you to have your man by your side...you'll really need eachother.

We are going on a little date next week and plan on discussing some of these jw issues over thai food. He's still cool for now and thinks the jws are wierd to say the least. Just gotta keep it that way.
As far as for the family, I am still finding the guts to tell them off. I had lunch wiht my df'd sister today and she told me our jw sis only sees and talks to me bcuz of my kids. Which I know is bullshit, just her excuse for not talking to df'd sis. Anyway,...the point is...it will be a huge relief once I get the courage and the right words.
Thanks for all the backup. You rock.

What disfellowshippable offenses have you done for the day?
by ColdRedRain intoday, as i celebrated the last day in the first half of my 20's, i started doing all sorts of sinful things.
i have done the following disfellowshippable offenses i've smoked weed, i've been on an unchaperoned date (with the most wonderful person in the world, my beautiful and still charming ex girlfriend), i've gotten drunk, talked to a disfellowshipped person, and to boot, i'm on an apostate site.

Well lets see, I smoked and had a couple of beers while talking to an old flame on the phone.
I am positive I may have possibly used some foul language unbefitting a Christian.
I hung out with my lesbian neighbors while our children swam in the pool. (I know, I know...how could I?)
I am still happily living in sin with my lover.
I have periodically checked out an apostate site and have loved every minute of it.
I threw one of the Big J's books in the trash... -

Experiences the WTS does not want you to hear at the Assembly!!!
by thepackage inyou know how on the last day of a district assembly the chairman always give these great experiences about how the dubs that attended the assembly had great spiritual experiences while at dinner or at the hotel.
well, hears one you will not hear.
for about five straight years, a friend of mine (whose father was a jerk elder who thought anybody who drank should be df) would leave the assembly at lunchtime each day, go to a bar near the convention, and get drunk out of his mind!!!

**ANyone remember that assembly where the blue YPA book was released? Well that was the one where all the youfs between 11 and 18 or something had to sit in a separate stand. We ALLL believed in God that day. No parents in sight! That was the day I learned about BJs!!!!**
I remember that. What a crock. My bf hand was practically up my skirt the whole time.
No bjs for me that day.
